We must ensure that we do things rightly and at all times, if we don't, how then can we grow as a nation? DOES THE END JUSTIFY THE MEANS? SirJeffry: This is because of your 'super ignorance' in that no constitution stipulates SSCE Certificate as the major requirement. For your information, PMB has nothing to defend because “Under section 318 of the 1999 Constitution, the word “school certificate” or its equivalent means: (a) Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent or Grade II Teachers Certificate, the City and Guilds Certificate; or (b) Education up to Secondary school level; or (c) Primary Six Leaving Certificate or its equivalent plus (i) Service in the public or private sector at the federal level in any capacity acceptable to the Independent National Electoral Commission for a minimum of 10 years and (ii) Attendance at course and training in such institutions as may be acceptable to the Independent National Electoral Commission for periods totaling up to a minimum of one year; and (iii) The ability to read, write and understand and communicate in the English language to the satisfaction of the commission. From here, some facts become apparent: - 1.Buhari is a General with many international trainings (ask your friends what it means to be a General in military) 2. He has served as Past President of FRN 3. He has worked as a civil servant for nothing less than ten years before his retirement as stipulated above 4. He has primary school Certificate. 5. He can read, write and communicate( though not fluent) Bros! Where was it stipulated in the constitution that he must necessarily present his WAEC Certificate? 3 Likes |

This just shows that our brothers from the other side can never play opposition, do you play opposition by chickening out. Its like the only opposition that is being played now is by ranting on the social media, if this was how APC played opposition, they won't be in aso rock today. The fact that Gani Fawehinmi's name is always mentioned as the only man who truly dares any ruling govt in the law courts to the very end is a serious indictment on today's lawyers who only don't chicken out when it comes to defending thieves. 1 Like |

Whether he withdrew the case or not is not the issue after all no judge will have the courage to rule against PMB. But one thing is sure, PMB is never a man of integrity as some of us thought. He is as criminally minded as other politicians. He still has the opportunity to clear all doubts on this and come out straight. At the end of the day, Nigeria loses because our institutions are weak and easily manipulated by the powerful. Maybe the next president after PMB will take a clue and do even worse and nothing will happen. |

Omonigeriarere: It is not about whether he can read or write, international trainings etc. It is about whether he lied under oath that he has a WASSCE certificate or not. Since he claims he has the certificate, the onus is on him to present it or tell the truth that he does not possess it. simple. 1 Like |

bejick: Buhari joined the Nigerian Army by enrolling in the Nigerian Military Training College (NMTC) in 1961. In February 1964, the college was upgraded to an officer commissioning unit of the Nigerian Army and renamed the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) (prior to 1964, the Nigerian government sent cadets who had completed the NMTC preliminary training to mostly Commonwealth military academies [11][12][13] for officer cadet training). From 1962 to 1963, Buhari underwent officer cadet training at Mons Officer Cadet School in Aldershot in England. I suppose to you NMTC is different from NDA especially since he enrolled when it was NMTC abi? Many indeed went to school but few are actually educated and e be like say u be their patron. |

greatiyk4u: Obama contested and won the US presidential elections yet when he was accused of not being a citizen, he tendered his birth certificate. Every sane mind knew for him to contest from the lower house to eventually end up in the presidency he must be a citizen but yet he did what was required... you see, that's the reason why U.S will be U.S and Nigeria will be Nigeria. that is the reason why we will always be backward underdeveloped third world black country with no intentions of moving forward. |

ken4jj:Been following this discuss and I am only replying you because you sound reasonable and you mentioned strengthening our institutions something I am really passionate about. Now, to the issue at hand. You are saying PMB should 'come out straight' and do what? Say he has his certificate with him? Because he doesn't. Buhari does not HAVE his WASC Certificate, he 'lost' it, long away and he swore an affidavit to this end. I am sorry I can't explain how he said he lost it now as it is a long story. However, the case against him in the court of law that he HAD to employ an itinerary of legal counsel is about his QUALIFICATION to contest the presidency vis a vis his academic qualification (WASC Certificate). A constitutional matter, but if you see the Nigerian Constitution, it does not say WASSCE or BsC or PhD is actually required, in fact a primary school certificate will suffice, WASC Certificate will also suffice or its equivalent. You will agree with me that Buhari more than fulfils all these requirement and the case against him makes no sense in actual fact. The case is not Show Me Your Certificate but you are not qualified to run for presidency. PS: The Statement of result was produced by his sec school. And a result sheet showing his result and others that took the exams with him. Buhari owes no one any other explanation or evidences as he has satisfied INEC Requirements even before that SOR was released in fact since 2003. |

The haters of the person of the president do not know the basis for the law suit and do not know the content of the constitution nor do theh know the inec electoral guidelines. If they had just taken time out to study it they would have realised that the law suit was baseless and simply mischievous. If you check well the same people calling for Buharis head are the same people that would see a very intelligent educative write up on NL and because of its length be complaining that its too long joor pls someone should help them with a summary and this makes you wonder where they get their stories and facts from if not from COPY AND PASTE of someone elses intellectual property be it right or not. 2 Likes 1 Share |

midolian: Buhari was taken to court before the election but the judge adjourned the case to a date after the election, knowing fully well that a ruling against him would have brought massive bloodshed on Nigerians. After the election, PDP decided the let sleeping dogs lie. The truth is that Buhari doesn't have WASC, and before like you who claim to be patriotic still defend him. Anyway, I knew the case wouldn't amount to anything. There is no way that case would have been decided (obviously against him because he doesn't have the certificate) and there won't be another civil war in Nigeria. |

Was the case of threat established? Did he present any credible evidence to show that he was actually threatened? All these baby lawyers who are just seeking relevance at the expense of the people's should be made to account for their deeds. How can you just come and waste people's time if you have nothing credible to say. The lawyer needs to be charged for wasting valuable time and resources of our president and that of the judge. |
Re: Nwokocha-Ahaaiwe Withdraws Suit Seeking Buhari’s Disqualification On Certificate by Kennydoc(m): 11:33am On Jun 30, 2016 |
EbukaLive: Guy, PMB swore an affidavit that his WASC was with the military board, meanwhile the military came and said there was no record of his result with them. Isn't that perjury? You talk about statement of result and result sheet and I ask, are you visually impaired? Didn't you notice that on that said result sheet, the paper bearing the names including Buhari's name was superimposed on the paper bearing the result, and a photocopy was made. The lines on both papers don't join. The case in question was beyond qualification to be a president. Everybody know that Buhari is qualified, at least being a past president. The fact that he's a retired general means he would have passed WASCE before enrolment into the army, so he should have had a certificate but the information we got was that he entered the army with a letter of recommendation from his principal. That letter was made clear to Nigerians in the heat of the debate. If Buhari's career was built on lies, and and he even lied on oath before INEC, which corruption is worse than that? |
