air-delivered antiship mine

The new Enhanced Quickstrike mines come in two flavors. The 2,000-lb version is the Quickstrike-J, which has the JDAM guidance kit attached and is commonly called the Skipjack. The 500-lb Quickstrike-ER version, called the Flounder, has both a JDAM-ER guidance kit and a pair of folding wings.

lol

i know Indian defense products r developed / R & D r done at shoe string budget

but i was kind of surprised myself to learn that DRDO spend only 14/15 million dollars in the research and development of the long range cruise missile.

America would have spent anywhere between .5-1 billion dollars for the same effort and capabilities grin grin grin

what u guys always fail to understand is that the yanks are always doing technological breakthroughs not copying pre-existing technology wich itself is costly and thats the reason why samsung and iPhone will ever be costly because they spend billions of dollars on reasearches. Cruise missiles have been in existence since so u can be so sure india didnt do jack from scratch.

Bro, don't tell me this. The yanks hype things and that's for sure. The yanks make you feel like their R&grin development is a big deal.

US also make use of existing technology bro.

for that to happen India will need a successful and extensive civilian military industrial complex , something which the Chinese Americans have .

India will need another 5-10 years to get to that point.

also India is bound by MTCR regime range will have to be capped at 300km , but there r ways to circumvent that .

anyways the missile costs only 5,00,000 dollars ie half a million dollars so its unit price is also very cheap compared to other similar missiles.

5-10 years for a industral complex is very optimistic, some technical problem in one or two areas could cause that long delay.

the devil lies in the details.

it is true that Americans r technologically advanced , but it is also important to note that most of their arms manufacturing assets lies with private companies who charge exorbitant price for the arms they manufacture.

when it comes to arms the CORE TECHNOLOGIES is always being copied , it has been copied by Americans Russians Chinese Indians Europeans Africans and everybody.

the CORE TECHNOLOGIES on which present day arms r based on, has been developed mostly by the GERMANS during WW2.

there has always been cross pollination of ideas between different countries , the so called STEALTH TECHNOLOGY was first worked on by the soviets , which the Americans copied extensively. similarly NETWORKING TECHNOLOGY was first worked on by the Americans and now being worked on by almost everybody.

as for the India cruise missile can u plz answer this queries

1.from where did India get the technology to develop the ACTUATORS/CONTROL SURFACES WITH LOITERING CAPABILITIES ?

2.from where did India get the technology to develop the FLIGHT CONTROL ALGORITHMS AND FLIGHT CONTROL COMPUTERS ?

3.from where did India get the technology to develop the INERTIAL NAVIGATION SYSTEMS / WAY POINT NAVIGATION / RING LASER GYROS ?

4.from where did India get the technology to develop the ACTIVE RADAR TERMINAL SEEKER / TARGETING ALGORITHMS ?

5.from where did India get the technology to develop the PROPELLANTS / SOLID FUEL BOOSTERS ?

6.from where did India get the technology to develop the DATA LINK AND ELECTRONIC SUBSYSTEMS / RIGGING'S ?

7.from where did India get the technology to develop the ENGINE (GTRE UAV TURBINE under development) ?

8.from where did India get the technology to develop the RADAR ALTIMETER , LOW ATTITUDE TERRAIN FOLLOWING NAVIGATION MODULE AND BITE ?

9.from where did India get the technology to develop the 24 TYPES OF WARHEADS ?

10.from where did India get the technology to develop the SUBMARINE , SHIP , AIRCRAFT and MAL LAUNCH MECHANISM AND RELATED TARGET ACQUISITION AND FIRE CONTROL SYSTEMS ?

etc
etc

if u can answer these then your above statement ( the parts which i quoted ) stands true otherwise it is baseless .

half knowledge is worse than no knowledge . u need to understand the basics first that is the difference between a theoretical CONCEPT (cruise missile) and a practical TECHNOLOGY (KLUB , TOMAHAWKS , KH55 , NIRBHAY , POPEYE etc cruise missiles) which needs to be researched and developed by every country.

India already has a budding civilian military industrial complex, last 3 years they have grown by leaps under present government. getting the fuuccking bureaucratic hurdles out of the system was the biggest achievement of the present government. it is still being done step by step.

and if present government comes to power again then Indian civilian military industrial complex will become a force to reckon with, otherwise add another 20/30 years grin

1 million dollar is a benchmark of a "middle class" in CHINA. In many major citys this sum can only buy an apartment with 2-3 living rooms, sometimes a villa in rural areas.

but sadly "middle class" are less than 10% of population, and they dont trust the social system, dont satisfied by the goverment.many have "green card "abroad.

many enterprise unsatified with rising cost choose to move abroad

in india middle class means u own your own house / flat, have a 4 wheeler , plus a respectable fixed bank balance (something like 1-200000 dollars) in addition to ur monthly salary

with 1 million dollars in india , you wont need to work , u can lead a comfortable lazy life with the earnings from the monthly bank interests only.

u know any good middle class chinese girl with 1 million dollars or more willing to relocate ?
send me her number grin grin grin

only bank interest rate can earn money? not to invest ? most country has the in fact "minus interest rate" thus the interest rate is lower than inflation

yes many women willing to relocate or marry but they would choose western countries Australia Canada USA ect.

The Airborne Electronic Attack Systems and EA-6B program office (PMA-234) of the US Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) completed a critical design review (CDR) for the AN/ALQ-249 Next Generation Jammer (NGJ) Increment (Inc) 1 Mid-band program at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland, in late April.

The system is now in the Engineering and Manufacturing Development phase with Raytheon Space and Air Systems, the pod prime contractor, and Boeing, the EA-18G GROWLER aircraft integration prime contractor. The AN/ALQ-249 NGJ Inc 1 Mid-band capability, once fielded, will transform the way the U.S. Navy conducts electronic warfare.
