Why raze peoples houses? Are the widows affected also militants?
Lack of professionalism is the bane of our military. In saner climes, some commanders would have had their service cut short.

what is intelligent work without communal co-operation.this communities shield dis boys frm possible arrest and military invasion, and u want peace
communities dont shield anything...the communities rather want resource control...let the FG attend to that..let the army find the miscreants themselves..when the masses needed the force the most they rather engaged in bunkery... angry angry angry angry

The oil companies keep trying to use soldiers 4 dea own oppressive gains. They would promise and fail then call on govt, to bring soldiers to destroy and intimidate..

PMB remains a PAWN in the oil war...

The come from far away north, kill you and steal your resources, yet you people still believe in one Nigerian... see how poverty glow in your villages and the North glows with your wealth. ..

I can remember when I went to ogoni.. there's no water to drink...there's no nice house... and they told me, the fought the government and were killed in their numbers. . Plus saro wiwa. ..

..all of you ND who hate biafra, I hope you are enjoying your one Nigeria as the northern army is killing you and burning your houses

With all due respect, this is a very idiotic point of view. Security agents cannot hold a whole community responsible for the perceived wrongdoings of a few unidentified people and then resort to extrajudicial and arbitrary violence to retaliate against the entire community. That is not how law enforcement works, and it does not happen anywhere in the world, other than in uncivilised societies like Nigeria where uncivilised brutes like you are in the majority.

Nigeria just has too many issues. I don't understand how or what kind of result you want to achieve by attacking a soldier: i mean all these people defending these guys should explain what good they expected from this Kind of situation. And if there is any abeg they need to leave their phones or computers and go out there and hit a soldier themselves.

As for control of resources, I keep asking if I give you 100k and you waste it, what makes you think that they will do better with more money?

For people blaming government and oil companies, you need to ask yourself why the cost of oil in Nigeria is over 25USD per barrel and less than 7USD in Saudi and other foreign countries: oil companies spend so much on bribery and community settlement it's sad, I actually know a company that while working and attempting a rig move, a whole new youth group from the community stopped them and demanded 40 million naira. Can you imagine that, the company already settled almost 80million naira that same year. This is one of many real life experience.

Something is very very wrong with this country!

Stupid youths. They don't want to do legitimate jobs. They are used to collecting free money from oil bunkering and amnesty.

I can assure you that Total has one of the best community development programmes. The problem is usually from the lazy ogogoro drinking yoots who prefer kickbacks to development. Imagine, they wanted kickback before Total could access the spill site to stop further oil spillage. Common sense is far away from these people. What else do these people want? I'm quite sure Warri indigenes are still regretting ever sending Shell away.

In Rivers State you pay communities before constructing their roads, you pay before pipeline repairs and oil spill clean up, you pay before giving them water. Amaechi really reduced that mentality but it's slowly crawling back.

so the job of our army is to carry out reprisal attacks on community people..do you hear your goddamn self...oya let them try it na.... undecided undecided undecided undecided

My brother, that is the mentality of many Nigerians. They think squealing on some one is easy. If that brother was in the same boat as those people, he would not say one word. What with one not knowing who is on their payroll. Before you know it, your Identity may be leaked and then, where do you escape to with your family? Will the police protect them? The villagers are also victims u fortunately, the army may take the easy way out by willing the land of every living being. As if the militants themselves will hang around for long. Most unfortunate is the fact that the military may also have the same "you are one of them if you do not report them" mentality towards the villagers.
Its just like saying because boko haram members operate from a certain village, the govt sends in military to wipe out the whole place.
