Edo Governorship Results: Obaseki Leads - The Nation by Nobody: 4:01am On Sep 29, 2016 |
Collation of votes was still on this morning – as of 1a.m. – in the Edo State governorship election. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which said the state collation would begin today, was yet to announce the results, but from unofficial but credible sources at the local governments collation centres, The Nation learnt that the All Progressives Congress (APC) was leading. Its candidate is Godwin Obaseki. The party was said to be leading in four out of Edo North’s six local governments – Akoko Edo, Owan East, Owan West and Etsako West, home of Governor Adams Oshiomhole. There were no hints about Etsako Northeast and Etsako North Central. In Edo South, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was leading in Orhionwon where its candidate Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu hails from. It is also the home of Deputy Governor Pius Odubu. Also in Edo South, APC was leading in Oredo, Egor, Ilepoba/Okha and Uhunmode. In Ovia Northeast and Southwest, the situation was unclear as of the time of going to the press. In Edo Central, PDP was leading in Esan West, Esan Central, Esan Northeast and Esan Northwest. In Igueben, former Foreign Minister and PDP chieftain Tom Ikimi’s local government, the APC was leading. If it's true then I pity PDP, because their survival depends on this result. If they win Edo state, then they ve hope of regaining Nigeria's trust as a better option than APC 5 Likes 2 Shares |

But what I am seeing up there is results from one LGA(APC stronghold for that matter), yet the margins are slim. So why the rejoicing? They have to give us figures for all other LGAs APC is said to be leading by The Nation. Abi na instruction wey there oga give them to prepare ground for the real ojoro 4 Likes 3 Shares |
