The 'Something for Nothing' ideology that has been burned into our psyche in Naija

We want world class infrastructure but we don't want to pay world class taxes. Property taxes? Fuel Taxes? Bridge/road tolls? Utility bills?
We want world class public education for zero to negligible tuition and fees. Yeah right! Just like it is in developed societies Sad
We want excellent public health-care facilities for nothing. Medicare tax? National insurance tax? Huh
We want social safety nets for the aged, unemployed, youths but are not paying. Social security tax? unemployment tax?

Nigeria is what it is today because we get what we pay for!! Yes I know, the Government gets revenue from an oil commodity and it is its 'responsibility' to provide for Nigerians from their cradle to their graves! Socialism or welfare state is noble in theory but fails in practice due to unsustainability! Things work in other countries because their citizens have a financial stake in those things via their heavy taxes and utility bills. Compare how public property is treated in other societies versus Nigeria where things are provided without citizens paying. Even to have them pay toll for excellent roads is wahala!

We want to be like Singapore but we don't do what they do! This applies to both us, the selfish citizens and our thieving leaders!!!

I can never hate Naija.... I just hate what nigerians do to themselves

We vote thieves in as politicians because they gave us a bag of rice,,,,, what do you expect from someone who stoop to buy your vote
We turn every oppurtunity we have as a means to make extra money via bribery,,,,,,, what do you expect when it causes a chain reaction
We vandalise and sabotage a good thing,,,,,,,,,,,,,, what do we expect if people decide not to invest or repair
We throw chairs at ourselves in state and national assembly,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,how do you expect these retards to look after your interest
We see obvious theiving politicians on our streets and do nothing but burn Aluu boys who did nothing ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,This is our reality!
We hear our politicians fly abroad to pay for check up and expensive surgery,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,are we not ashamed! what the point of all those capital letters after our names.......

Nigerians home and away are pure victims of Nigerians

bring back the Army, we were never ready

tosh_acer: We simply want to know. Maybe some of us also will decide to immigrate and leave Naija as empty as it can be.

what dumbf___k wrote this? how can a country with more than half the population of America, about 3 times the population of England, about twice of that of Germany, be emptied out because a couple million people leave? Rather than look for ways to reveal your ignorance of what it means for people to emigrate, why not focus instead on those still in Nigeria and why they seem to hate Nigeria with a passion and refuse at every avenue to make decisions to move the country forward.
