Toyocee:Then I suggest you visit a second hospital and get a different opinion. There is little we can deduce from your history onlube , a proper cardiac examination would be very helpful. Coupled with an O2 saturation. |

oyestephen:Hernia can only be corrected surgically. Perhaps there is some co-infection prompting the administration of antibiotics. If he has began to feel pain then you guys have to hurry, it's already become an emergency |

Preator:Does the pain affect one or both ears? Does it diminish her hearing? |
Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by Preator: 11:56am On May 28, 2017 |
frenchwine:Its just the right ear and it doesn't affect her hearing. The right earlobe is slightly swelled up too. Thanks |

Preator:Does she feel and pain and maybe something swollen under the jaw or in front or behind the ear? |
Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by Preator: 12:12pm On May 28, 2017 |
frenchwine:No. Just the ear pain. |
Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by Nobody: 1:28pm On May 28, 2017 |
Preator: Fine then. It may be a pain of nervous origin. She should see an ENT surgeon at the Federal hospital nearby so specialised tests are carried out. |

hello house, my 2years old son 's 'rectum' sticks out each time he defeacates. It has to be guided in back each time. The doctor says its because he is underweight and advises that he be forced to eat more. Pls I need advise on how to go about the situation. |
Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by OnlineMD: 1:53pm On May 29, 2017 |
filcast: Sorry about your son's condition. It is good that you have seen a doctor regarding your son's condition. The doctor is correct. The most common condition associated with pediatric rectal prolapse is malnutrition. Usually malnutrition leads to the loss of ischiorectal fat which reduces structural support around the rectum. It is important to also note that there are other conditions that could cause a rectal prolapse in the paediatric population not limited to chronic constipation, parasitic diseases etc. I suggest you see a paediatrician to make a full assessment and begin treatment immediately to avoid complications. |
Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by filcast(m): 3:00pm On May 29, 2017 |
OnlineMD:Thanks a lot for the effort. The doctor we saw was a paediatrician and he felt it was underweight. The boy doesn't like much food. Can you suggest other healthy options to increase his weight. I think he is about 10.5kg presently. |

frenchwine:can't you prescribe a medication for me? |
Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by Nobody: 10:04am On Jun 02, 2017 |
filcast:I think the problem is more than you were made to understand. 'If you have to guide it back', then malnutrition should be the least of ur worries. I'm uncomfortable with the 'be forced to eat more', we don't advice force feeding, not even for an adult. There are more ways than one to encourage a child to feed. |
Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by Nobody: 10:07am On Jun 02, 2017 |
filcast:You need to be sure of his exact weight. 10.5kg for a 2yr child isn't even close to being underweight. The expected weight of a 2yr old is 12kg |
Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by Nobody: 10:11am On Jun 02, 2017 |
mamziii:Yes I can but I wouldn't do that blindly. I need to know what I'm treating cos I didn't diagnose uti. Need to see the tests you have done. |
Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by Lexusgs430: 11:13am On Jun 02, 2017 |
mamziii: If UTI goes untreated, it can have severe health consequences for the patient. Recurrent infections, especially in women who experience three or more UTIs, could lead to permanent kidney damage from an acute or chronic kidney infection (pyelonephritis) due to an untreated UTI. Who diagnosed your UTI ? Do you have your uninary analysis reading ? Was your urine sample sent to a lab ? Who prescribed auroxetil ? 1 Like 1 Share |

To The Future, PLEASE READ CAREFULLY NPMI COMMUNITY: A NEW BEGINNING The desire to establish a safe haven and secure the future, has been one of the driving forces behind human existence. Sadly, it is well known in science, that “to every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction”, that is to say, humans in every part of their endeavour, will continue to face challenges, some almost persecutory in nature, that seeks to drive the human mind to rot, and ensure extinction at all cost. A battle between good and evil. This never ending battle, exists as subforms in every area of our lives, our profession, some so infinitesimal it is undetectable. A part of this higher struggle, exists in our health system today, with so many agencies and communities fighting against extinction, a battle, the nigerian prospective medical interns has spear headed. The NPMI community has taken the centre stage in the fight to alleviate the suffering of young medical interns looking for placement by introducing online and physical campaigns in the past, to create public awareness, and also deliver interview openings to people’s mobile phones via their ever increasing blog, whatsapp groups, telegram etc. Another important functionality they invented, is the eparcel service, which seeks to reduce the incidence of road accidents as prospective interns travel day in day out on the pathetic Nigerian roads, to submit applications (not even the interview yet). Now you can sit at the comfort of your home, and NPMI delivers for you. So many testimonies abound. This brings us to the bigger fish in play. There has been yearnings by NPMI to create a bigger community, to bridge the gap between undergraduate medical students and already established professionals, with the internship struggle sandwiched by the two above, so there’ll be a steady and smooth transition from been a student to a professional. It has been a much needed development, as currently, no such community abounds in Nigeria online, exclusively for the medical society. This is why NPMI has created the first ever medical forum website in Nigeria to cater adequately, for such needs. With this online forum, the following have been achieved: 1. Create a social meeting place for medical society 2. Create a platform for continuous help in transition from the grassroots to the top of your career 3. Ensure a steady flow of information from different quarters in every profession. 4. Create a simple and modern forum design 5. Have fun while at it. The features of the forum include but are not limited to § A profile page for every user with important info like biodata, profession etc. Also allows you to have a display picture and cover image just like facebook. § Friend request capabilities and you can also follow a member without been friends § Notifications while on the forum about recent happenings. § Ability to subscribe to a comment or post or groups § Create groups for specific purposes like facebook, invite members to join, create topics and have fun § Users can also upload their resumes into their profiles and set it as private or public. Advantage when you need to submit app for eparcel. Admin can then go ahead and download your resume and application for submission, as aimple as that. § Users can upload images etc § Play around with news feeds and a new feature “activity streams”. See what others are saying or doing at a glance. § Private chat members in ther inbox. § Tabs for settings … And so much more Having said so much, less will be believed if there is no visual proof! Head on to the NPMI community at http://nigerianmedinterns.com/community and experience the magic of a new community designed to serve you. |

Although i had treated Staph infection along the line when i was still having the cough. What can i do to stop it. I took treatment for the staph infection in a hospital, intravenous injection and buttocks. i feel improvements after the treatment but i feel warm (heat) and a little headache ever since. its been a week now after i completed the treatment.
