People keep saying there are loop holes in the law, one question that keeps coming to my mind is ;how come it's easier to convict a small thief in Nigeria with that same law?, in sane countries, these are the kind of people that should use their two hands to cover their mouth, we sure have a long way to go 2 Likes 1 Share |

DozieInc: Wrong. You cant keep such amount of money outside a bank even if the money is legitimately yours. That is still money laundering, an offence punishable by law. Any amount to be transferred to anybody higher than $10,000 must be cleared by customs and CBN. Now all Andrew needs to do is to provide details. 1 Like

omenkaLives: Read again, he's right. The corruption fight should be a holistic one, why seize money alone? How will you justify the freedom given to Yakubu? That's why he has the gut to defend his broad day loot, even if he legally earned the money, stashing it up is a crime in its entirety, by now he ought to be in remand. |

this is what you get when we have a lazy and incompetent efcc officials who go on convicting people only on media and pages of newspaper .yakubu is only making use of the opportunity created by efcc. to convict such criminality the efcc ought to have gone through painstaking and thorough investigation to be able to nail the defendant, I will not be surprised if this case is prolonged and forgotten at the end of the day. 1 Like |

So it has gotten to the stage where thieves can ask for their stolen loot with boldness, I wish this was north Korea or China, this Andrew would have been executed in less than 48hours,forget due process, forget court proceedings. Which people gave him such gifts running into thousands if not millions of dollars? This is the reason why these big thieves never get jailed, they will always find a loop hole somewhere to exploit. And yet we say there is little corruption in nnpc, I wish jerry Rawlings was in power here. |

When he was supporting el-rufai, nobody came for the money. Now that he is backing Kwankwasiyya for President and also indicating interest in contesting for Gov in 2019, efcc uses his driver as whistle blower to confiscate the money. He was only arrested after he went to their office to demand the return of his cash. The guy is a criminal, but there is more to his arrest sha. |

fight against these predators milking our collective common wealth is an all inclusive fight from all and sundry. the effrontery will stop when the senate pass a bill sitting in front of them seeking special court to try the accused persons of corruption charges. severe penalty and punishment on those convicted will deter people like this scums who will come out to deny a daylight robbery like this. whistle blowing from common citizens like you and I will go a long way. the bulk of the work lies with the Nigerian senate to do the needful and take things seriously as the president. the questions is, will the caucus of corrupt lawmakers in both chambers of the house do the needful and pass this bills? |

Andrew Yakubu is desperate because instead of clicking the link on my signature and using part of his legitimate salary as Group Managing Director of NNPC to buy some marketing units he decided that its better to steal millions of dollars of public funds and keep in a slum. Andrew Yakubu, if you had bought the marketing units you would have been earning US Dollars everyday and EFCC would never have raided your house. Naija civil servants, politicians, bankers and private sector workers please dont steal what does not belong to you. Now that you are working use part of your legitimate salary, visit the link on my signature and buy marketing units. A word is enough for the wise. |
