Withambition: I really don't have much to say to you until you know the true reasons why countries who practices real democracy have different ministry. Why jobs are shared among the ministries and a particular minister is assigned to their duties. You love this man dearly from your comments but acting right in a time of wrong is quite foolish. This is his chance to truly impress by drawing a blueprint to savage a recession hitting country and shine in the face of all including opponents. Guess there are no important national concerns then. 1 Like |

Dongreat: You are not saying anything and you have said nothing so far. Just the usual rant. No big deal in a leader inspecting infrastructure they spent money building. Putin once did the same thing and handled the contractors accordingly. Yet you quote Putin as if that is the role model. 6 Likes 1 Share |

I forsee another peopled centred movement and citizenry backed presidential candidate, against the establishment and cabal in 2019 ,as it was in 2015,if Osinbajo continues this way.Ironically,he maybe d fulcrum of the Ist revolution in Nigeria and d making or breaking of d contraption called Nigeria in 2019,again if he continues at this pace and vision. How?The north wud want to lay claim that a candidate from that region shud complete d 2nd tenure of d sick cattle rearer. But having tasted what good governance is,and having seen a Nigeria pulled from d economic nightmare it was plunged into, with positivity in other areas, the people wud troop out from all nooks and crannies to demand that its either Osinbajo gets a full,4yr tenure to continue his then manifest incredible works,or Nigeria seperates,so that those satisfied with d kind of mediocre leadership provided by d accursed, corrupt fisherman,or d sick, disappointing PMB,stick with that type, while d rest of us,go our way to get Osinbajo type leadership. I see d northern elite and cabal losing the 2019 decider of Nigeria's faith. 3 Likes |

AntiWailer: Oh you mean Putin once inspected a toilet and not an actual working power grid, a well constructed road, a five star hospital and a stable economy despite oil their (Russia) major source of income? Keep making jest of your education, I fit it truly and abysmal funny. Get off that static state and go to a country where things work and be amazed how foolish a Nigeria politician is. leo1234:Guy, you ain't seen nothing yet. How I wish buhari could just stay there for a year...USD would crash woefully in no time. The acting president's 2-time visit to the nigerdelta region has led to a sharp increase in the daily oil production to over 2 million barrel per day. He held a town hall meeting with the leaders of avengers and dokubo, even had a dinner with them. The approval of modular refineries in the region is a welcome development....that's the direction in which a president is expected to lead. I wish buhari good health but should take his time before coming back. I wouldn't mind if he spends a year there, so as to allow capable hands do the job for him in a better way. 3 Likes |

DonCortino:OMG! Chairman, you are getting so many things wrong. I wish this was an essay topic and I will write pages upon pages. Please, note that he didn't visit the airport just to inspect toilets. You know how press couch their headlines to attract readers nw. He visited to check the facilities generally including the toilets. Trust me, he has his reasons. For example, what if a member of a foreign envoy jokingly made reference to the poor state of the toilet? Osinbajo Inspects Toilets, Carousels at Lagos Airport February 24, 201752369 Chinedu Eze In line with the federal government policy on the ease of doing business in the country, the acting President, Yemi Osinbajo yesterday inspected facilities, including toilets and the carousels, at the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos. Accompanied by the Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, the acting president drove from the VIP section of the domestic airport through airside to the tarmac of the international wing of the airport. He went through the security areas to the arrival hall, where he inspected the travelator and expressed disappointment that the facility was not working. Osinbajo also inspected the carousels and toilets, before proceeding to the departure hall of the airport. Throughout the inspection, he expressed disappointment that many of the facilities were either obsolete or broken down, and even newly installed equipment like the carousels were not in efficient working order. He inspected the immigration area and went to the Visa on Arrival section to enquire how quickly a visitor could obtain visa on arrival. “We are doing a lot to ease the process of doing business in Nigeria, so we want to make the environment friendly, not only in the area of transportation but for everybody who wants to come and do business in Nigeria. “The airport is one of the places where we need to ensure that facilities are working and that things are being done properly. We have come and we have looked around and seen quite a few of the equipment. “There are many things that need to be corrected, so a lot need to be done. We need to work on them,” Osinbajo said. The minister also affirmed that there were things that needed to be done at the airport to enhance easy facilitation and improve the comfort of travellers, adding: “We are here to look at these things. I agree with the vice-president. A lot needs to be done. That is why we are here.” When THISDAY asked Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) sources why many of the facilities were not in good working condition, one official said most of the contracts awarded for the execution of projects at the airports were done by the Ministry of Aviation (now Transport). He disclosed that oftentimes FAAN’s management is excluded from the award of contracts for project, “so for the agency to effectively handle the affairs at the airports, interferences from the ministry must stop.” During the inspection, it was learnt that the company that ought to maintain the carousel had not been paid and discontinued work. 2 Likes |

AntiWailer: He actually left Abuja to check toilets and how I knew is a mystery to find on a faceless forum. Suggesting a solution? I did three mentions ago by stating minister of health and Lagos ministry of health. I find it hard believing you have crossed boarders cos if you have then your comments are either typed by a 2 years old suckling or you are paid peanuts from your commonwealth to dance to every bongo bongo played by the government. And finally I am not a fan of politics, America or British but I do read daily to know what's up. A BBC and CNN app is all that is needed. 1 Like |

Don't you know how dishonest and inefficient most of these ministries are? Read the news very well and you'll notice that the money for the repair of these facilities was collected by the ministries but never got to the relevant contractors. |

Dongreat: this guy, the Acting President came unannounced to inspect the airport facilities if you are as smart as you claim to be then you will know toilets are among the airport's facilities. and if you are wondering why the AP is inspecting the Airports you should know the airports has been in the news lately because of poor facilities. And if you know anything about Nigeria Aviation sector you should know that both the ministers and the Aviation stakeholders have nothing to offer, Billions of naira have been spent on Airports in the country yet some can't boast of good runways and basic facilities. If Billions have been spent and the Acting President comes to see things for him self; what's wrong with that? The childish part of your comment is to compare Nigeria with Developed countries. You forget Nigeria is one of the countries you spend Billions of Naira in a sector, but that sector keeps deteriorating. Guy this is Nigeria stop being childish. 5 Likes |

Dongreat:Brother, read the news o this issue very well. All these ministries you're talking about do next to nothing. From the news, you can ascertain that these ministries are very corrupt! They FG paid for repairs of the airport facilities but it never got to the relevant contractors. I have a feeling if they know he's an acting president that will not just give order but also back it up with impromptu visits to inspect, people will seat tight and things will get better. It's not a matter of loving him so dearly, he's not my father but I believe he has his reasons. For example, he was a lecturer in Unilag and must have travelled for international conferences using the airport so, he knows the situation of things there. If the Ministries are saying they've repaired the facilities and the airport users are saying a different thing, how does he want to ascertain the truth? I won't be surprised if the visit is what informed the firing of the 10airport top officials. |

pryme: Again like I say to others I will have a real convo with you when you learn to think out of the box. "This is Nigeria and not some developed countries" yet you pray and fast for Nigeria to be developed and still think like this. Or better still, you wish to leave Nigeria for greener pastures in a developed world. I have met your type before so no surprises. Encourage a VP to inspect toilets when we have a ministry and minister of health. I really think some countries need to be carved off. 1 Like |

Permit me to vociferously eulogize this dogged gentleman for his unquantifiable achievements in just one month as Acting President. He has enthusiastically demonstrated a visionary leadership, indisputably made obvious in his quintessential leadership strategies. An erudite professor, a legal luminary and a compendium of political sagacity. Prof Yemi is actively acting as our Acting President ! Mind you, I'm not a card carrying member of any political party. Just aired my view without any sentiment. |
