I'll advice you....go to Nigerian Air Force Reference Hospital Bauchi state. Nigerian Air Force Base Bauchi is by Abubakar Tafawa Belewa International Airport. 22-30 kilometers from town. Take his pictures and go see the Commander of the Hospital. Please, this is all I can say.
Do they have a plastic surgeon and Urologist there? Obviously not.
Wrong advice.
Thank you.

Jesus! That is bed sore o! Caused by Pseodomonas aureginosa, when a patient has been in lying position in hospital, they have to make efforts to treat this infection please and always change patiets position. It kills more than the initial disease the patient was initially admitted for. OP! Speedy recovery four your Dad, am so sad right now.

Smart babe. I was about naming P. aeruginosa before you did. That's exactly what the problem is. Stubborn microbe.

He needs an MCS, a cocktail of strong antibiotics and a constant change in resting position.

First and foremost before anything get his blood sugar levels down otherwise no treatment would work. Squeeze bitterleaf, let him drink it twice daily for one week to ten days ...before any treatment.. This is the first thing.. It is advisable to test his sugar levels before yu put him on this theraphy and do it for one week, check the sugar levels again and then come back to tell me what u observed.. Next thing is to then launch full scale treatment..

Don't fret OP,it's pressure or bed sore it's just that you guys didn't know and kept him on his back for long reducing blood flow to the area causing it to ulcerate to become a sore and that rubber mackintosh is not helping..start first by getting a cotton bedsheet you lay it without crease to avoid friction on the skin, get a nurse to be doing daily dressing if you guys can't go to the hospital, any time he poos or pees use water to clean the area so it won't further contaminate the area and continue using the powder I saw it's good or use vaseline jelly after bathing him daily..then make sure you turn him like 4hrly to increase blood flow to all the areas

Hmm sweet nurse. kiss. No wonder I'm dying for your love. But Lama sabactani cry?

Your dad cannot walk anymore, am I right ?
Metastasis to the vertebral column is common in terminal prostate cancer.
Make the poor old man comfortable for the final moments. Pain management is very essential now.
I lost a dear friend recently from this very same disease .

Take heart.
rightly said. Good perineal hygiene, evaluation by plastic surgeon, and review for possible metastasis even beyond the vertebrae

He has been in a private hospital in the north for about a month now. It seems the doctors don't know what to do right about now. I just got in from Lagos yesterday... All I am asking for is a third party view after all we all here are family..

Some people are are not only highly insensitive but ignorant too. Some people can't recognize a hospital bed when they see one.

That wound definitely needs expert debridement and daily dressing. Other systemic factors need to be checked too. Is he diabetic or what other comorbid state is he in. Once those are done he will recover though it might take a long time.

Gory picture attached please.

Doctors in the house pls come to my aid.

Has this gone beyond bed sore?

Is there any hope for my dad to get healed?

Is there a remedy for the wound on us back to get healed again?

Is this beyond medical prognosis?

Should we look for alternative?
Please mod do the needful.

op get aloe Vera. Mix it with honey and use it on the affected area. Thank me later for it.. One morning and evening...

I want to believe he is old. My grandma suffered this before she died. The cells though she took antibiotics at interval. It is because he doesn't stand from his sit for a long time. You can see a doctor for it but fear not. It is associated with old age.

Necrotising fasciitis (NF),[/b] commonly known as flesh-eating disease, is an infection that results in the death of the body's soft tissue.[3] It is a severe disease of sudden onset that spreads rapidly. Symptoms include red or purple skin in the affected area, severe pain, fever, and vomiting.[3] The most commonly affected areas are the limbs and perineum.

Typically the infection enters the body through a break in the skin such as a cut or burn.[3] Risk factors include poor immune function such as from diabetes or cancer, obesity, alcoholism, intravenous drug use, and peripheral vascular disease.[2][3] It is not typically spread between people.[3] The disease is classified into four types, depending on the infecting organism. Between 55 and 80% of cases involve more than one type of bacteria. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is involved in up to a third of cases. Medical imaging is helpful to confirm the diagnosis.[4]

Prevention is by good wound care and handwashing.[3] It is usually treated with surgery to remove the infected tissue and intravenous antibiotics.[2][3] Often a combination of antibiotics are used such as penicillin G, clindamycin, vancomycin, and gentamicin.[2] Delays in surgery are associated with a higher risk of death.[4] Despite high quality treatment the risk of death is between 25% and 35%.[2]

Necrotizing fasciitis affects 0.4 to 1 person per 100,000 per year.[4] Both sexes are affected equally.[2] It becomes more common among older people and is very rare in children.[4] Necrotizing fasciitis has been described at least since the time of Hippocrates.[2] The term "necrotising fasciitis" first came into use in 1952.[4][5]

It started from the state teaching hospital. I just got in from Lagos since three years ago

Is there a solution to this? Because I could see his spinal cord showing already and the sore stinkes awfully.

Op, kindly pm me....

I think the solution to your dad's sickness is not in the hospital. Your dad needs a competent nutritionist. He need vegetables and fruits to activate his dying immune system so that his wounds will gently heal. believe me, your dad needs natural supplements not chemical drugs.
