Jesus Christ dying for man’s sin has its origin in the ancient concept of offering human sacrifices to a deity. 2 Likes |

Horus:So how was this a human sacrifice? Were the Romans offering Jesus as a human sacrifice or they were simply giving him the death of rebels? 1 Like |

thinkmoney: My brother, I humbly submit you are the one in GRAVE DANGER of the same error of those that killed Jesus! John 10: 30 I and my father are one .... John 10: 38 ...the Father is in Me and I in Him. The last portion explains what it means to be one (or same) with God. It is inability to understand or accept this concept that made them crucify Jesus, thinking He blasphemed! Going by your analogy of Abraham and Isaac, my answer is yes -they are the same. This is why Christians can boldly sing the war song The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; Jehovah the Man of WAR; His Blessings endureth for ever and ever; O praise His Holy Name! Every Jew saw the three as one and a continuum! They have too many things in common for you to be able to differentiate them! |

kilo4sure:Use your brain or don't quote ne again! Why was Jesus crucified? For what purpose? Why should Jesus be sacrificed before "God" forgives "our" sins? Why must the blood of "his begotten son" be spilled first (by humans God himself is angry with) before he forgives those sinners? IF THE CRUCIFIXION WAS PLANNED AND JESUS WAS AWARE OF IT, WHY DID HE STILL SAY "WHY HAVE THOU FORSAKEN ME" ON THE CROSS PLEASE USE... 2 Likes

HomoDroid:My brother I am responding to ur reply not to win argument, but because of the love of God. First, I had pointed out that KGV of the bible needscserious work on it, still when you read it with logic and open mind, you will still understand it, especially if you compare a topic with other part of the bible that speak on a similar topic. An example of a part of the bible that can help to explain the "I and my father are one" is john 17 from vers e 11. Here Jesus was praying and asking God to make his disciples one, just like him and God are one. Logic will tell you here that Jesus prayer isnt to make is 12 disciples morph into one single entity, but his prayer is for them to be united just-and now note Jesus used "just" like him and God her united. This exactly is what Jesus mean in that john 10:30, 38. Me and my father are in union (instead of my father is in me)will be a more appropriate translation now, which is exactly the way other modern translations render it. Jesus further clarify his relationship with God in that same john 10: 36; he told those who wanted to stone him that "do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said I am Gods Son?" Lastly you suprised me the way you morphed Abraham, Isaac and Jecob together. Don't we pray now "the God of Babalola, Kumuyi and Adeboye? Yes you can say this people are united in their believe about and worship of God, but does it mean they are one entity? People that like Abraham, Isaac and Jacob leaved in different time and are definitely going to die differently? KAI my brother, be careful!!!, |

Mememan:Meaningless rant, you still haven't answered the question, what is the so called bloody human sacrifice in a leader giving up himself for his people? How can giving oneself as a ransom for many become a purposeful human sacrifice when it is clear he died on the charge that he claimed to be a king and was killed by God's enemies? So who sacrificed who and to whom? 2 Likes |

sonmvayina:God forgived them But if u read through the Old Testament you would see that Once in a year the high priest goes into the holy of holies with a cleansed blood Of an animal to intercede for the people n himself so that God will forgive them for their sins. But coming to the New Testament in order to link man with God, Christ came down and made a once for all Sacrifice so that no blood of animal will continually be shed for the forgiveness of sins |

sonmvayina:My brother, the sin of Nineveh is a sin that is possible because of the original sin. Nineveh signed albeit to a great degree like many people do sin daily, even righteous people of bible time. The original sin, that as made everyone weak in flesh, and that has everlasting damnation as it consequence is what made Christ come. Everyone both the righteous and the unrighteous will die. But no one would have had the hope of resurrection if Christ didn't give is life. May God bless u |

Activa:Actually the Romans killed Jesus but God's people the Jews considered him smitten of God (isaiah 53)because they believed he was false. All God did was to turn the ugly situation into a victorious one, vindicating him by raising him from the dead and making his sacrifice worthwhile, his death then paves the way to the new covenant |

RosaConsidine: JESUS CHRIST has died once and his blood is eternal propitation for all sins, either man against God or man against his fellow man. He has become the high priest forever. So man can stand on the potency of the blood JESUS to forgive other man and also receive forgiveness from man and it will be valid. Just believe you have forgiveness through Christ and stand unshakeably on it. Satan will try to play some pranks on you but remember the book of Romans 8 vs 2 Romans 8:2 KJV For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. And Romans 8 vs 1 Romans 8:1 KJV There is therefore NOW no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. I deliberately quoted 'vs2' before 'vs1' Because the law of sin and of death is a potent operative mechanism in the spiritual relm, so 'v2' must be your platform to access / enjoy 'vs1' with God or man one sling short give you the victory. 1 Like |
