RSA: Yes RSA, you are wright, I was a bit generalizing, but majority of them do that. With regard to Arrogance, i aggree with you. They have realise that you dont go to a foreign country and pretend you own it after you have taken the streets. I think the arrogance was because of money, 5 years ago this guys were making money on the street. They drove latest model cars. I think they thought they were better than the locals and they came here within short space of time, they were rich. The arrogance was to show us we are here for 2 to 3 years and have made and you(South Africans) have been here for years but still struggling. Now the police are catching up with their pace. I think what the police managed to detroy the network by focusing their attention to the King Pin. Look at the guy who was dealing with wife of a minister in KZN, what an embarrasment to that poor guy that his wife could be used by this Nigerian Drug Dealer. Its greed, it goes to show that she could even cheat him to get cash, maybe she has been sleeping with this thug. Thank god he is behind bars. There are some two women who were arrested in Brazil because they were snaggling this guy's drugs to Brazil. Now they gonna rot in jail. The guy seems so relax, he was thinking he could bribe himself out of this situation, maybe he has done it some times, but this time around he won't get a chance. He is in for good. |

Hey guys i think the reason Nigeria is always on the spotlight is because of its economic importance to the world. Not even china can close its eyes to such a mouth watering market. South Africa is a great place with a lot of great people too. I strongly believe Nigeria and South Africa can steer Africa out of the murky waters of poverty if both comes together and make a concerted effort. This same level of beef u guys are exhibiting here here is the reason the South Atlantic Patrol Team could not materialize. We both have our highs and lows. South Africa has a fairly good manufacturing sector and a good foreign investment in the automobile industry. You cannot hide your face from South Africa's superb Air-force and superior Rand. Nigeria in turn has a stable Information Technology sector evident in its indigenous computer manufacturing and optical fiber backbone design and manufacturing company. It also has an amazingly reliable ground force, the best in the continent. South Africa has an alarming crime rate, second to none on the planet Nigeria has an unprecedented level of corruption If we can get over our own problems as a nation, then the sky is a starting point. 1,2:That swagger you call 'arrogance" is not going anywhere anytime soon, its ingrained in us, whcih is why we prosper. Take that away from Nigerians and we are just like the rest of other Africans answering 'yes sir" 'no sir", |

Re: South Africa by 14(m): 11:40pm On Feb 24, 2010 |
benom: Where have you been all along? We need a man like you. People with positive mind. You are 100% correct, we have our highs and lows in deed. You are correct, coming to crime we wright there at the TOP. The reason is We have reliable statistics department. Even on HIV, There is no country in the whole world that does test their citizen for HIV like South Africa. Other countries dont even have a Stats for HIV, its just a time bomb. Watch out for India, China and Nigeria. The number of people with HIV could be higher than that of SA, because those countries don't have Stats and they dont test. Africa 4 LIFE |

We do have a real problem. Electricity, water, good roads and other basic amenities. Currently i work in the heart of the Niger Delta and i can tell u first hand how bad it is. In the face of all these adversities we are still moving on as a nation, still maintaining who we are as a people. This is a really big lesson i think other Africans need to learn from us. Do u guys ever take into consideration the number of west africans that claim to be Nigerians immediately they leave the shores of their country? Great countries are largely known for what they contribute to the lives of people, especially those around their geographical location. NAIJA Great Nation, Good People |

morpheus24: Yes I will also like you to elaborate? @Benom I like how you think, and so far I agree with you on everything you said.Like 1,2 have said where have you been? |
Re: South Africa by morpheus24: 5:34pm On Feb 25, 2010 |
RSA:how many times will I continue to elaborate to you RSA. You of all people should know that 150 milliion people lef to fend for themselves in such a small, harsh, and constricting enviroment will develop a 'swagg" nature once they have achieved what they believe to be coined material success. I will not analyze for you that fact anymore. As for benom you obviously are very young or ain't a naija person, |
Re: South Africa by benom(m): 6:57pm On Feb 25, 2010 |
@morpheus24 You kind of sound frustrated. I doubt if u are a nigerian cause we never get frustrated. Just for the records, i am a graduate and an IT specialist. I work for Nigeria's biggest bank and I come from a very humble background. You cannot excel when you carry the problems of 150 million people on your head. All i advice u to do is to stop whining like you a currently doing, believe in your capabilities as a true Nigerian (if u are one) and exhibit the rugged Naija sp4 4 ma guys in South Africa, Naija rocks and if u doubt it, then pay me a visit. |

Re: South Africa by morpheus24: 7:52pm On Feb 25, 2010 |
benom: I am very far, far, far away from frustration bros. And the reason i asked if you were Nigerian would be if you truely were one you would realize the nature/nuture of the average Nigeria. Most other Afrian countries are very small in number compared to Nigerias densely populated land mass. The population size adds to the event of continiuos struggle for limited resources amongst it populous thereby creating a survival mentality of fight or flight. The fight mechanism creates a resilient character who uses domineering aggression and arrogance to survive the flight mechanism makes an individual leave his/her environment in search of enviroments in which he has or can manipulate to create an advantage.(@ RSA this analysis for you is for free) Much can be said of the average South African in analysis of certain behaviour types as well. On close examination of the average South African's boistruous nature in terms of music and dance one can deduce that this trait is ingrained as a result of culture and enviromental circumstance. ever wondered why SA are the best singers in terms of Acapella? |

Re: South Africa by 14(m): 4:09am On Feb 26, 2010 |
benom: Very frustrated. Yes, we agree that Nigeria ROCKS, we never disputed that. Its a FACT. With over 150m people, you better be a rocking nation. |
Re: South Africa by 14(m): 4:18am On Feb 26, 2010 |
morpheus24: Then educate us, stop telling us that Nigeria is the best country in Africa. We want to learn more about this nation, thats what you should do. If i am educating you about South Africa, dont dissagree with me because i know South Africa better than you do. The problem with you morpheus24, you don't listen. You think you know every thing. Its like you've been to every country in Africa. |
Re: South Africa by RSA(m): 9:18am On Feb 26, 2010 |
morpheus24: Now this is what I call a Nigerian swagger,in South Africa we will say this is AYOBA! Jokes aside,Mr Mo. One question for you. Do you think this mentality wich you clasify as 'The fight mechanism creates a resilient character who uses domineering aggression and arrogance to survive the flight mechanism makes an individual leave his/her environment in search of enviroments in which he has or can manipulate to create an advantage' Is still relevent for Nigerians when they go to countries where law and order is upholded,or where the goverment is playing active role in developing its people? |
Re: South Africa by morpheus24: 3:00pm On Feb 26, 2010 |
1,2: Don't misquote me. I never claimed the above. What I did was explain the Nigerian swagga. You are the one not listening. 1,2: Actually I have which is why I have enough knowledge to express my viewpoint on what I have experienced and seen. In regards education. I suggest you hop on the next plane and start visiting other nations as well and when you get there actually mingle with the local people and feel what they feel so you can understand what African life is all about. The last time I was in your country I wasn't chilling in the fancy hotesl at sandton and surfing on the cape shores, rather you could find me in the townships at a local meat market in the evening mingling with the locals who were enjoying a cold beer and some T^shesa Nyama bro, |
Re: South Africa by morpheus24: 3:08pm On Feb 26, 2010 |
RSA: Personally I feel it is very relevant to retain this survival mechanism only that it should be harnessed for the good and not the bad. No one is saying Nigerians should break the laws in any other country. In fact it is very evident taht once out of the hustle and bustle nature of Nigeria, most people adapt as most humans do to the enviroment in which they are presented and prosper. Its like nuclear energy, the correct harenessing of this energy coul illluminate the world but the wrong step could cause a disastrous catastrophe, Because of the agressive nature of business in general(don't let anyone fool you business is very aggressive)for a Nigerian to become too complacent and docile renders him/her at a disadvantage in the world stage. The more obedient you are to a system that you unfortunatley do not control or do not have much say the more you will be disadvantged in the long run of things, My two cents, |

Just when you thought South Africa was the most dangerous place in the world. If we check country by country crime, you will be shocked. As i have always said, crime in SA is exaggerated by angry white folks. CHECK BELOW Berlin - Armed robbers on Saturday struck at a million-euro poker tournament in Berlin, stealing money and injuring gamblers. The masked gang burst into the Grand Hyatt hotel in central Berlin, where the tournament was taking place, threatening security staff and prompting a brief panic, police spokeswoman Heidi Vogt told AFP. Berlin's Tageszeitung newspaper reported on its website that six raiders armed with Kalashnikov assault rifles and grenades had made off with €800 000 (R8.1m). "Several masked, armed individuals entered the Grand Hyatt and fled with a haul of money," Vogt said, without giving details of the sum involved. She said a number of the tournament's players were injured in the incident, though none were seriously hurt. Continues Below ↓ The tournament organiser, the European Poker Tour (EPT), said the six robbers were probably attracted by the one million euro prize on offer to the winner of the event. The EPT said the attack took place around 2.30pm (1330 GMT) but did not say how much was stolen. Images of the chaotic scenes during the raid were broadcast by the private n-tv television station, showing furniture overturned and poker players hiding under tables and trying to escape. A witness, Jasmin Wiegand, told n-tv the attack lasted around 10 minutes and said security staff had responded "very bravely". Four of the attackers entered the hotel from Potsdamer Platz, one of the German capital's most important and popular squares, while two others kept watch, the Tageszeitung reported. A security guard briefly stopped one of the robbers, who hit him over the head with a weapon and fled, the newspaper said. The tournament, which German tennis legend Boris Becker took part in earlier, resumed around four hours after the attack, according to n-tv and the website pokernews.com. Nearly 1 000 players are to take part in the five-day poker tournament, the EPT's first in Berlin. - Sapa-AFP |
