As hard as this is for me to say, honestly NIGERIA IS A MESSED UP COUNTRY.

The entire premise of a law is predicated on its content, which by extension means its letters or words. "Coordinator" is never a transfer of mandate and its inherent powers, which was exactly the intent of the law that asked the president to send a letter to the National Assembly.

If such was done in developed and serious nations, that letter would have been shredded until the right designation is made.

Coordinating is comparable to times when the president attend official duties outside of the Villa, Ofcourse, someone is always overseeing activates before he comes back. That is never the same as when a president is going for medical follow-up in incapacitated situation. And especially when he doesn't know the duration of his medical tour.

This is an insult to the constitution of Nigeria and its beautiful people.

Clearly, you and many others seem to be having difficulty comprehending the President's letter. I see no issue here from a legal point of view. In the letter, the President principally referred to his notification of the Senate as being in compliance with Section 145 of the constitution. Now what does Section 145 say?

Section 145 :
‘Whenever the President is proceeding on vacation or is otherwise unable to discharge the functions of his office, he shall transmit a written declaration to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives to that effect, and until he transmits to them a written declaration to the contrary, the Vice President SHALL perform the functions of the President as Acting President'.

Now let's be objective and critically analyze the above section:

1. 'Whenever the President is proceeding on vacation or is otherwise unable to discharge the functions of his office' - These are the qualifying conditions and both currently apply to Buhari

2 '-he shall transmit a written declaration to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives TO THAT EFFECT' - Buhari is required to declare to/notify the Legislature in writing TO THAT EFFECT. The object phrase "to that effect" is grammatically used as a summarized reference to "the effect of something that was mentioned before". What did Section 145 mention in the earlier part of the sentence? that the President is either going on vacation or he can't perform his presidential duties.

In essence, the sentence can be interpreted as "he shall transmit a written declaration to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives to the effect that he is proceeding on vacation or is otherwise unable to discharge the functions of his office'. In other words, the content of the President's letter is only required, by law, to be a notification of the President's incapacitation or absence. Any other addition is incidental and cannot supersede the intent of Section 145.

3. '-and until he transmits to them a written declaration to the contrary, the Vice President SHALL perform the functions of the President as Acting President' - Meaning that unless the President writes that he is back from vacation or he is medically fit to function, the VP will assume Presidential role officially as the Acting President.

Now the above is the most important part. It is this part of Section 145 that transfers the Acting President title/role to the VP subject to the President's notification of the NA of his incapability. In effect, the President's letter does not transfer the title, it is the law that does. The letter is only a trigger for transfer to happen. Whether the letter mentions Coordinator, Acting President or even conductor DOES NOT MATTER.

And by all means, Buhari's letter satisfied the minimum legal requirements. The Senator was just raising an inconsequential objection.

If to coordinate the affairs of the country means being an acting President of the country, so what's Mr President's fear in simply use the general language that people are used to. Are they happy at the uproar caused in the country by their absence whenever they travel?
