The symbol of the Naira(our currency) is from Latin and for some reson, you are not drawing any religious sentiments to it.

This country got its name from the Niger River. The name "Niger" is derived from Latin but you are not raising am objection cos it fits your religious bigotry and program.

Save yourself further embarrassment.

CC @smellymouth

You have said it all Sir..
The problem with this country is religion..

IMO, Religion and ethnicity are the worst problems of Nigeria for Decades, and not Corruption...

Grasping at straws are you? Please if the Naira can be derived from Latin which is associated with Christianity, why are you fretting about another insigna from Arabic which is associated with Islam?

Infact, I think traditionalists should protest this. It is not fair, Sango and Amadioha need to be represented too
How is it associated with christianity?

You are not getting it, Arabic is not Islam. The Hebrew language in which the Bible was originally written is not a Christian language, is it?

the difference between me and the bokos is, i don't have to blow you up to prove a point, it can't be French or greek because those languages have nothing to do with Nigeria same applies to gibberish.

Is gibberish our official language? NO English is

Is gibberish among the three main languages? NO

some people comments heh

There is no reason why it should be written in Arabic,,, since Arabic isn't one kg our languages..

to those who says English word for Allah is God... (agreed But )

Why shouldn't it be written in Hebrew, since it has the English word for God also, why shouldn't it be written in Latin, Greek, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French... they all have English word for God.....

stop being an hypocrite, the words are supposed to be written in English..

now even the official language of the army is Hausa... lemme talk about this to

the official language shouldn't be Hausa, it should be English since most people understand English... but maybe Hausa is easy to hear that's why they make it official language....

cc; lalasticlala, mynd44

abeq push up and lemme hear more reasonable comments

It isn't right to be written in French & Greek...

there are some French speaking country in Africa and their religion is Islam ( major )

Sierra Leon -------- Case Study

Languages of Sierra Leone -

Although English, as the official
language, is spoken in schools,
government administration and the
media, Krio is spoken as a lingua franca
in virtually all parts of Sierra Leone.
Krio , an English-based creole
language, is the mother tongue of
10.5% of the population but is spoken
by 90% of Sierra Leoneans.

the religion of sierra Leon is ISLAM

Islam is the
largest religion in
Sierra Leone,
with
significant
Christian and
animist
minorities.

According to a 2015 estimate from
the Pew Research Centre, 78.0% of
the population is Muslim, 20.9% is
Christian,
while the rest of the
population is either animist or
follows other religious beliefs.

yet the motto of sierra Leon army is UNITY, FREEDOM, JUSTICE

why can't they write it in Arabic

Nigeria Muslims sha,,, they always want to be on top, they only know themselves, cater for themselves, & also they are selfish.....

You still don't get it, do you?

The world doesn't give a d.a.r.m about the "rest of you" that are not Northern Nigerians.

From the time the colonial masters handed over reign of leadership to Northerners (half a century ago) up to the recent "edging out" of the famous CLUELESS DRUNKEN MASTER out of Aso Rock Villa; pure dominance has always been achieve through support of the invisible hand of the white man.

The same white race who sold you c.o.c.k & bull story about someone who's death in far away Middle East Isreal some Two thousand years ago Is supposedly to absolve you of your committed (and yet to commit sins)
are also the same people helping to undermine your progress.

Your role model and icon, the white man, who brought evangelism to you and (still to your face) mortgaged your existence to the Northern Nigerians, are now the same elements you want to use in equating Justice and rights.

Do I smell gullibility?

Trying to logically explain the presence of Arabic inscriptions on our national symbols, currency etc will amount to a waste of time because time immemorial such attempts has turned out fruitless.

I remember sometimes far back in the year 2007, our dear SEUN OSEWA vigorously tried to enlighten discussants (your kinds) about the real meaning of literacy & illiteracy, when the question on why there were Arabic inscriptions on the Naira notes was posted.

Your brothers had claimed it was meant to appease the Hausa's illiteracy. Even SEUN, a classed orator could not convince them (in that forum) that the simple (glaring) fact that an Hausa man could read in Arabic Language makes him not only literate but also formally educated.

LITERACY IS NOT EXCLUSIVE TO THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE, but you wouldn't know that would you? Because you lack origin/originality.

Accept your fate, you are 2nd/3rd citizens.

Nothing on the surface of planet earth can change that. At least not as long as the White and Jews and Arabs and Asians remained world leaders.

On a last note, one major quality that makes Northerners preferable (as Nigerian leaders) is that they (Hausas) are cultured, mannered, diplomatic and far more beaurocratic than the rest of you (gun toting, mouth yapping, fraud inspired) lots.
