Funnily, with all the negative talk people like to chump on the South South, we are actually by far the best performing even without oil.

4 South South states are in the top ten. In fact Edo and Cross Rivers don't even receive anything from oil sef and yet they are punching hard.

We contribute all of the nations wealth and and still generate our own resources for ourselves while others just wait to share from our natural wealth!!
Keep deceiving yourself. Edo is an NDDC state and broke. It has sought for bailout from FG on several occasions

Ogun State merely enjoys a spill over advantage due to its proximity to Lagos. It's not on its own merit.

13% derivation is lumped together with IGR, not to mention the revenues gleaned from the oil industry behemoths and associated oil-related activities... distinct from FAAC allocation. So yeah, oil is still at the centre of the ND states' sustainability.

Be deceiving yourself with old and decades pictures.

According to stats ogun beat your almighty anambra hands down. And for old and already over taken stats you put up there, it's as old as 2013,bro.

Just bear the pain abeg, here :

Igbos are mainly traders that buy and sell on a daily basis, when they sell they deposit and when they want to buy they withdraw. The circle keeps repeating on a daily basis, my friend that is not a measure of development or wealth.

If I withdraw N5000 from Bank and bought a shoe for N4500 which I later sold for N5000 and deposited it back to the bank the same day, financial transaction for that day is recorded as N10,000 but I truly don't have that amount in reality. Imagine repeating the same thing on a daily basis and tell me what my financial transaction will be for a week not to talk of a month.

You just reason, how will anambra's financial transactions be higher than Lagos, port-harcourt, kano, Ibadan, ogun or Kaduna. These are the states with the highest GDP contributions in Nigeria. If anambra is that wealth Igbos won't be rushing down to Lagos and other South Western States on a daily basis.

Here is new ogun abeg grin
So go sit down and cry abeg, and OPS lest I forget, below, more..

Anambrians are in full control of their economy, state government doesn't tax them much unlike Ogun and Lagos,

http://www.channelstv.com/2016/09/20/recession-obiano-suspends-minor-taxes-anambra/
Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, has suspended payment of numerous minor taxes in the state, announcing that the directive will take immediate effect.

Gov Obiano said the state government had come up with a “four-intervention stimulus package”, to ease the pain of recession and its impact on the people in the grassroots majorly.

Governor Obiano identified the first part of the four key areas of intervention as the “Tax Relief Programme” in which various minor taxes would be suspended.

The second is the “Special Intervention Programmes for Small and Medium Enterprises and Large Enterprises” where the state government, under the Anambra Small Business Agency (ASBA), would provide the agency with a minimum of three billion Naira to lend to SMEs and MSMEs at nine per cent interest rates across key sectors.[/b]

Then again, the whole thing shows just how poor and backwards we are. So Lagos essentially generates a mere $1 billion annually? For a state of more than 20 million people and lots of commercial activities, coupled with direct access to the high seas? It's not much to gloat about. It would be a poor country if it were a country.

If Lagos were to be a country, it would have the 7th -I think- largest economy in Africa.

Monies generated from its sea/airports [which, trust me, are very huge] and mineral resources would be her's not Abuja's.

I do agree that Lagos can very much be better managed though.

Pictorial evidence,

1 & 2 Onitsha, Anambra biggest city

3 & 4 Abeokuta, Ogun state biggest city

Very old analysis. A lot of infrastructural development are ongoing in Ogun state currently in terms of roads, housing as am speaking now.

Amosun has mandated contractors currently working on ogun state roads to finish work before November 2017 which will birth almost 10 flyovers in the state in addition to the existing ones and also minimum of 3 carriage way roads in major cities of the state. Chill till November by God's grace, we will upload all the pixs
