If the truth must be told our foreign currency reserve would be better off for this but we should go further and ban our politicians from sending their kids to school abroad as well as spending our hard earned and scarce dollars on hospital treatments when we have UPTH, UNTH, JUTH, LUTH and all such other UTHs sef. grin grin grin grin

I was born into the "Up Nepa Syndrome"...lived with it till l was 20's, came back twice and still the syndrome persists. Is that a sign of progression or backwardness? If the hypocrite wants to be patriotic, he should have done his research before declaring Senegalese jollof rice was better than his home country. Now, he wants to flex his moses (sorry, muscles) on the entity called 'creativity', that's been helping Nigeria's image beyond its shores. The move might look patriotic, but it's got a lining of prejudice and poor thinking embedded in it. In addition, l feel there shouldn't be any sort of restriction as to 'where' the entertainment industry should use, in relation to movie or music production. He needs to dialogue with all the parties involved that makes Nigera's entertainment thick, before jumping into a stupid conclusion.

[quote author=ONYEUTALI post=58494116] Ignorant Islamic fanatics. How many Islamic Nigerian Musicians/Actors are known in Nollywood and the Music Industry?
Why won't this Islamic Government of Buhari do away with Christian Artist. The motion to Islamitise Nigeria is here staring you in the Eyes and some ignorant fellows are still shouting 'One Nigeria'.
Disgusting zoo. there is nothing like religion here.pls be guided and tackle the issue straight held on, we (both Muslims and Christians citizens) are all hited by this demosensless speech credited to the lieing minister. So enough of all this Muslim Christian divisionism after all amongst them (politicians) there's nothing call religion, they all partying, wine and dine together while watching and laughing at us (the citizens) when we are arguing, fighting and killing one another.i pray that may natural divine sence fall on us quickly so that we all understand.hmmm this is my humble submission

so he makes no sense trying to elevate our country and let d world see us more?

You don't elevate or showcase ur country by stifling variety/creativity and trying to interfere in private money expenditure. Rather u do that by creating a reasonably easy business environment with important basic infrastructure like power, good road networks, effective transportation and security. With these in place, people will be begging to invest n take advantage of the large Nigerian market.

How many times has your president travel abroad for treatment? How times has the Saraki, Dogara and Co sent their kids abroad for education.

When they all decide to stay back concentrate and develop our country, only then shall we take them serious

Bro... why would you make such a dumb statement? Don't the politicians or whoever foot the bill? ...so how is this related to your taxpaying dollars ... being used to fund a private enterprise? The FG should never be funding Nollywood period...Nollywood is private.I would hope the FG stop all funding of Nollywood... and use the money for what it is supposed to do. ... provide infrastructure and services for the masses. In other countries this would not even be considered... blatant misuse of public funds.

They take our talents out of the country to produce a film and sell it back to us as made in Nigeria films OK.
They also buy our crude oil and sell it back to us as petrol.
Even the NFF wants to stop our footballers playing in Europe as all footballers should be made in nigeria

SycophanticGoat:

Your demonic president and his brainless cum clueless bunch of never do well ministers, think that a nation or sectors within a nation will progress when legislative forces are used on everything. The useless buharism that plunged Nigeria into recession and killed thousands of businesses, thereby resulting to loss of millions of jobs; is the same fascist buharism they want to introduce into the entertainment industry. Just watch as they will kill the industry within just 3 months.

You have a country with one of the poorest infrastructures, epileptic power supply, terrible roads that cars can't even ply freely without video cameras falling off the hands of the camera man due to pot holes. A country plagued with insecurities especially in some locations (Bornu, Kaduna, Benue, Enugu, Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Imo, Oyo, Rivers, Cross River, Anambra, etc,) but instead of the useless government to tackle these menaces and the brainless masses to hold them accountable, yet they leave such important issues and want to destroy the only industry that escaped recession.

By the way, to correct the notion that Hollywood don't make their movies in Africa, you mofos should even consider yourselves lucky to attract movies that require slums. Here are some Hollywood movies that have been shot in Lagos.

Wolverine - The Origin
Captain America - Civil War
Phat Girls
Tears of the Sun,
Sahara,
Etc.

You don't expect the entertainment industry to grow when you restrict it to a particular location thereby killing the dynamism required to make it grow. The best the useless and brainless lying fool called Lie Mohammed could have done is to encourage the musicians to do more of their music videos in Nigeria, just like most of our movies are done here; instead of coming out to talk trash about them stopping musicians from shooting videos abroad.

If there's any section of the country that needs to be restricted in order to grow our economy, it is the tourism, educational and health sector which actually take away trillions of our naira annually, due to politicians interests in patronizing foreign countries for these services. Your brainless and demonic president is the number one proponent of foreign medical leave and patronizer of foreign institutions. For crying out loud, your senile and brain dead idiot of a president has already spent over 70% of his 2017 on medical sabbatical in the UK with our presidential jet alone, generating over £300,000 (of our money) for the English government. I haven't even talked about accommodation, hospital and other bills which will amount to millions of pounds.

Ask your useless government and criminal political elites to first lead by example. Brainless leaders leading an even more brainless youths.

My friend present a superior argument or zip it ..so in your mind now govt should make laws stopping independent movie makers from deciding where to shoot their movies ? People like you are responsible for the rot Nigeria has become..Please just look at the life of anyone under Ur care now and tell if you are happy with the state of their existence ...Even Hollywood that is Hollywood go to other locations to shoot scenes..Govt has no business regulating where any film maker wants to shoot his film once they can afford it ..Govt should focus on fixing the infrastructure and if other countries don't instead come here to shoot ..
