@Echidime what u said is the reality. Whether they believe or not Abia,Imo they are part of the Niger Delta.
If thats the case the kidnap should be all the states involved not only the Militants from warri,Bayelsa and Rivers.And to be frank this negative situation will never yield to success.There should be another way out in this case but not killing and destruction of lifes and properities.

These Hoodlums in the name of fighting for resource control are only self-seeking. Ken Saro Wiwa never advocated violence. I cringe when i think about dispicable micreants like Dokubo Asari, Alams, Odili etc. I do not support the expoitation of the region and neither do i support the the insurgency. I know there are brilliant Niger-Deltans represented in the goverment that can effect changes from within through dialogue, negotiations and other peaceful means with the Nigerian state. Truth be told, no level of insurgency by these hoodlums can destroy the Nigerian state. I wonder why they were not this militant when murderers like Abacha was in charge? go figure.

In how many ways may we either cause or share the guilt of another’s sin?
We may either cause or share the guilt of another’s sin in nine ways:
By counsel;
By command;
By consent;
By provocation;
By praise or flattery;
By concealment;
By being a partner in the sin;
By silence;
By defending the ill done.

My Take:
Ok there is injustice. Solution? Seek a way acceptable to God.
The problem sometimes: The Oppressed Becomes Judge Turns Oppressor And Invites Judgement From God. (cf Matt 7:1)

Every month Rivers state Govt gets 4 billion naira as oil derivation, that excludes the normal state allocation and the HUGE amount (billions) obtained yearly as tax from oil majors. A recent publication by Mobil alleged that Shell pays 8Billion naira yearly as tax to Delta state, not to talk of rivers.
So stop asking why people don't have drinking water. They have the money! a one-time expenditure of 4 billion naira will provide drinking water for all the communities in Bayelsa state (im sure). an additional 10 Billion will provide electricity for many communities. Yet this is not done. Why? because crooks who are south-south in origin steal all the money.
Alams stole N50 billion, yet MEND are demanding for his release. An Ijaw man, from an ijaw community ruling an Ijaw state stole enough money that could provide water and electricity and employment for many people in his state and what do these people do? they ask if he's the only governor stealing money. What happened to simple logic? What happened to common sense?

Don't these guys know that if the force some companies to close shop their people lose thier jobs? Go ask how many jobs were lost when willbros and Michelin pulled out.

Those who are sympathetic with the kidnappers with the dumb reasoning that they are being 'well treated' should see how it feels locked up against your will by criminals, no matter the quality of food you receive you'll not enjoy it, and neither will your family!

OK. We don't have saints governing us in the Delta. As per stealing, why don't you ask yourself why someone like Chimaroke Nnamani, Governor of Enugu State has some 172 houses scattered all over the world credited to his name by the EFCC/ICPC?

How on earth did OBJ, poor as he was pre-May 1999 suddenly turned to the owner of 1) Bells University of Techology, 2) Obasanjo Farms - whose worth is in the Billions of naira range and a huge share in Transcorp?

If OBJ, IBB, Abacha, Nnamani, indicted Tinubu, Alao-Akala and Atiku can own such stupendous wealth by pilfering from the national treasury, the treasury that was filled mainly (90%) with the proceeds from the sale of crude oil from Alams, Ibori, Odili and Attah's backyard, why on earth are you so angry that they ''stole'' some thing that actually belonged to them and their people?

A bit of figures to help. Rivers gets an average of N8 billion MONTHLY. Its the likes of Delta and Beyelsa that will get an avg of N5-6 Billion monthly.

No amount of reasoning will convince these Niger Delta agitators. They are determined to destroy themselves.
Re: Nigeria-delta Crisis On Cnn by debosky(m): 8:35pm On Feb 15, 2007
. . . . . and the rest of the country while they are at it!!

they want to 'control' their resources. How? do they have the skill, knowledge or manpower to exploit oil? O rthey just want money to spend anyhow. Rivers, Delta and Bayelsa get huge sums, Rivers budget is 4 times that of Sokoto. what do they have to show for it? an 'ultramodern 'govt house' and a jet. waste of resources!

deal with the messed up rulers from the ground up then you can go for the federal govt. when LGA chairmen and state gov'nors get responsible, then they can now have a respectable voice in clamoring for change at the center.

They are not even clamouring for change, they are collecting ransome and are totally after the money. Who will clamour for change or better future for Nigeria. Thieves

Nigeria cancels CNN advert over controversial report.

Good step. Why should we keep on selling ourselves a world who's not ready to buy us at the lowest price.
