the movie isn't even as detailed as the book itself
if you read the book you will find out u missed a lot

So true.
I watched the movie countless times.

It was until I read the book that I was able to piece some things together.

His threat during the Mafian bosses meeting for peace when he was about to bring back Michael from Sicily where he went to hide after killing the police boss was chilling.

Mario Puzo books is a must-read for all lovers of good books. he has an uncanny way of writing his story lines and stringing scenes together. His books are almost impossible to put down we a you start reading them.

1. The Godfather
2. The Last Don'
3. The Last Don
4. The Sicilian
5. The Fourth K.
6. Omerta.

For the Godfather I advise that you read the book before watching the movie. the book gives a deeper understanding of the storyline. there are aspect of the book that are not depicted in detail by the movie. In the movie, part 3 of the Godfather tries to tell the story of the death of Pope John Paul I (Albino Luciani) and the circumstances sourrounding it.

The Last Don is also a mind blower.

The family chronicles the conspirarcy in the papacy in the pre-modern era and the influences exerted by the Pope with focus on the reign of Pope Alexander and his son Caesara Borgia (the Borgias).

It is good for men to recommend these books for their sons. When you read this books, it makes you know that you dont take things for its face value.

you were almost 100% right. Michael's consigliere wasn't Tom Hagen. it was Al Neri.
wtf is caporegime of Italy?
on Sonny's death, the godfather wasnt weakened, he even said it that Sonny would have made a bad don. that meeting was held to ensure safe landing for Michael from Sicily and to find out who masterminded the attacks.

Like I don't know all these? I know. but its a summary, was I suppose to narrate the whole movie in details?? I know everything abt d movie. I know Tom Hagen wasn't in part 3 n I knw it was in d meeting they knew who planned d attack on Santino. u r wrong cuz D Godfather cried wen Tom Hagen told him d bad news, so is crying not a sign of weakness? u r also wrong bcus d Godfather condemned Santino wen he was advicing Michael he said "Santino was a bad don" (bcus sonny was too hot tempered n lack temper control which was used to work against him)So d Godfather didn't credit santino but saw him as a failed don who couldn't control his temper. u r even female afterall hw wud u av understood a mafia story dat is based on a Capo regime?. Capo regime was a time wen mafians ruled italy, Capo is abbreviation for Capone or Al capone. the capo regime is d era wen the italian mafias controld d Italy. Thats capo regime n u shud av known if u understood d movie as u av claimed to cuz they talked abt d corleone capo regime wen Michael Corleone was summoned b4 d honourable council. but like I wrote:"To cut a long story" I summarized I didn't narrate d movie. understand d difference btw summary n detailing Ma. that aside y usin d name of a treasury looter? are u an enemy of d state? or u r amg d supprters of political demons?

nah... all you typed this time is devoid of facts, like you said in a previous post, you got bored by the movie, so I can assume that you're yet to fully understand it. I didn't ask you to narrate, you just mentioned stuff's that's incorrect. The godfather said sonny would have made a bad don, he said he didn't want Michael in the crime business, he wanted him to be a senator or governor, those are the people that wield power, the mafia are like puppets on a string. If you watched or read the Godfather, you'd realise that don Vito was sad at the manner of Sonny's death, but when he was told/ briefed on the war and told that Michael killed Solozzo and McCluskey, he wept and asked everyone out of his room. that was his grief.

in the movie Michael changes his consigliere to Al Neri as at Part 1. According to him, he needs a war time consigliere like Genco. Tom Hagen would administer the clean side of business, since the family is getting out of the dirty business.

And finally, a caporegime is a title held by a particular person.at a point, sonny was a caporegime, Salvatore Tessio was a caporegime, fat clemenza was a caporegime. you are getting your information from cartoons?
it's like a squad leader. caporegime doesn't mean a time when mafia ruled. you should Google this, in fact , if you want to know about the mafia you should google ' Benito Mussolini's war on the Mafia, and Cesare the Iron prefect" .spend your data wisely.

I will make him an offer he can't refuse.
then afterwards,Michael Corleone said the same when trying to deal with the casino business man. The great Don Corleone is a man you would surely love ,very disciplined, nice, considerate and yet very deadly.
I have "The Sicilian" eBook, does anybody have "The Last Don' eBook pls? I will thank you forever and will give you many ebooks in return

petermuller:
“The epic tales of crime and betrayal”

This book is a fiction (crime) novel written by Italian American author Mario Puzo. It’s based on the Mafia world. It was released in 1969 and the screen adaptation won numerous awards, most notably ‘the academy award for best adapted screenplay’ in 1972.

The book features the legendary Corleone family in New York City (Long Beach) who came in as migrants from Italy in the 1920s, this book is about the rise of a man from relatively nothing to something and his efforts to keep his sand castle upright. It explains the underground criminal world in great details.

Don Vito, as he is regularly addressed in the society is the head of one of four families in the mafia families in New York. Is a man of wit and outstanding character, having built his empire from careful manipulation, he sees things crumbling when he was attacked by another mafia family (Virgil Sollozzo), who was in a quest to take his territory and expand business.

After his first son got killed, there was a void left to fill as who will lead the family his immature children or his foster child?

The book is a perfect mix of family, betrayal, revenge, and survival, and is an easy path for imaginative thinking, with the way the writer kept the character web well organised and vast. The book’s setting was mainly New York and there were a few actions in the Old Italian town of Sicily, where the Corleone family were originated.

The question to be asked in this book is if truly there were characters in the real world who were into this nature of activity. As time went on, numerous crime families in America were exposed and their dealings were found to be very similar to the one explained in the book. Part of such families were the Colombo family, the Los Angeles Crime Family. The level of crime reported in this book are not actually overrated as they were mostly research and testimonies made by members who turned against their Mafias. The book explains most misused and misunderstood terminologies in the society today, like; the capo, soldiers, Consigliere, associates and informants.

The book vast character list makes it very easy to relate to as you would find your personality in one or many of them.

For me, and most reviewers, the godfather is a MUST READ, for lovers of crime fiction and if you are not, then you might want to give it a try, although one of the deterrents of people from reading this book is the volume. But this shouldn’t be a problem if you are an avid reader or you simply want something to relax, and step into the crime world and know what exactly “crime” entails.

After i read this book, i had ro see the movie. It is my number 1 best movie of all time. I watch the 3 parts often. My family members are tired of me sef.
