It is a truism that Nigeria is bedevilled with bad leadership coupled with economic convulsion, that has stagnated practically every sector of our national life.
'Nigeria' no doubt is a nation ordained and richly blessed by God with a plethora of natural and human resources, in depths that can force even a repentance from the devil.
My country, immaculately created and adorn for greatness, due to leadership malady is currently plagued by odious and rancid conflicts; poverty; disease; stinking level of ignorance; want in the midst of economic buoyancy etc. Thus, Nigeria beautifully and perfectly made is banal, bland, prosaic, mournful and sad.

The glaring fact is that the country is replete with threats and counter threats, entertained with disease and mountain-like level of poverty; not forgetting the war drums of insurgency in the North, to the cry of Resource Control in the South-South, and the call for secession in the East....the country has found herself in the labour room waiting for her destiny to be delivered or aborted.

How can I forget the strong role played by ethnicity and religion, where almost every national issue is weighed on the altar of this beautiful but dangerous twin brothers. They influence who gets what, when and how; education; health; and even who takes ill in the country. The place of religion is even more dangerous to the extent that The State sponsors pilgrimage with scarce resources to other countries to offer prayers that can easily be answered in our bedrooms. What about the number of Churches and Mosques that dot virtually all nooks and crannies of the country? What about the large number of followers who rather pay tithes than pay taxes for development? What about the loud noise that is capable of even waking the dead that overruns the city centres on Fridays, the loud drums, singing and claps on Sundays all calling for repentance and yet with rising levels of crime in the country? For example; kidnapping, fraud, human skull harvesting, prostitution, drugs, cyber crimes, are all done by the followers of the major religious groups that throng worship centres on daily basis culminating in human disaster despite the country been spared by natural disasters. I guess it is all about Mosquenity without Islam, and Churchenity without Christianity....

However, the beauty and prospects of the Nigerian state cannot be expunged by the multidimensional problems currently ravaging the country.

I have a dream that Nigeria will rise pronto like the 'Holy City' from the shackles of misfortune.
Nigeria will define the New World Order, famed as The Way; the Beacon; the Citadel that gives refuge to the weak and feeble; the city where financial adultery, want, lack, banditry will be things of the past.

However, all the above prospects of the country would amount to farce without the collective inputs of all who are equal stakeholders of the Nigerian project.

Thus, the clarion call is for all Nigerians to join hands together to make a nation where there will be justice for all, equality, opportunities for all, because despite our differences, we still share citizenship. We must be shrewd, deft, adept and act with all sense of propriety and patriotism in all our dealings.

In the words of former US President Franklin D. Roosevelt " the hottest part of hell is for those who sit on the fence during the times of crises"
Therefore, the time for the youths and all other patriotic Nigerians to take back the country is now!!

God Bless Nigeria
