Even without an active foreign policy South Africa is a powerful country and needed on the continent.
You wouldn't wanna push and make it hostile to you. Don't poke a hornet's nest cause you think you might ran away.
SADC wouldn't support that excluding Malawi.
Other regional blocks aren't united and are weak.
First of all, there is no such thing as foreign policy.
Second,West africa is the most united and prosperous African region that boasts countries like Nigeria,Ghana,Senegal and Cape verdes.
Thirdly,No matter how militarily strong you believe yourself to be,you cannot fight a continent, lol, how many fighter jets do you have?,my man,Uganda has more than that.
Lastly,SADC will support sanctions on SA if killings of their citizens continue for too long.

The problem with south Africa is that it has first world laws for a third world population, if you could fire live ammunition like in marikana, the whole thing would end.

Rubber bullets and tear gas won't do anything, they'll just come back the next day.

they like to pretend they are first world country when they will easily pass for an example of a third world country.

i was laughing with amazement when i heard the xenophobic crowd asking what did africa do for them during apartheid.

this level of ignorance is what marks and sets that country apart from others. it is evident in their institutions and military.

5. No, you have literally moved the goal posts from Naval systems to military systems.

1. Nothing left here to discuss. An ADS made in 1960 shot down a "stealth" bomber....... Pathetic.

1. It is, deal with it.

3. Your Special forces were roundly defeated by common farmers. This is a proven fact.

"A source with the United Nations in Bangui said the South Africans had asked for assistance from French forces to help them leave the country."

http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSBRE92M0AU20130324?irpc=932

"Bangui - South African soldiers in the Central African Republic are seeking safe passage to the airport after taking heavy losses during fighting with Seleka rebels, Reuters reports."

"Amy Martin of the UN's humanitarian agency, OCHA, told the BBC World Service that the SA troops had retreated to their barracks and were seeking safe passage to the airport."

The gripen jet and Rooivalks offered SA troops in CAR a safe passage to Uganda as needed. The gripens flew above the skies of CAR and the Seleka rebels immediately were scared to the core and never wanted even to be seen by South Africans.

This is basically the same ignorance shown by the xenophobic attackers.

Mozambique has closed their land bother with southafrica as we speak, turning all SA registered vehicles back.

Malawi has ask for all SA shops and companies to be boycotted as have Zambia and Zimbabwe; the former has its biggest radio blacklist all south african songs.

Nigeria was just a few members shy of re-calling her ambassador with some MPs calling for a diplomatic severance with SA..

under apartheid rule South africa was the pariah to the region.

And now under black rule south africa is still a modern nuisance with a CULTURE of xenophobic attacks.

whatever little influence the country has in that region is melting away like candle wax ..

I really don't know what is the definition of defeat according to you. The Seleka rebels raised the white flag to give up the fight little did they know that SA troops ammo was about to finish. It looks like SANDF with the little ammo that they carried was luckily more than that of Seleka rebels.

Thus, SA troops being over 1000 miles from home, still managed to held Seleka rebels to a stalemate with more casualties on Seleka side. SANDF was never defeated, they saved the life of Bozize, thus duly delivering as promised.

I thank you.

After extensive modifications to their systems they were able to detect the bomber only when its bomb bay doors were open. The system used ultra-long wave radar, which cannot be used for targeting of planes. Once they detected it, and knowing that the Americans used the same rout to hit targets they simply fired a missile timed to explode at a certain height and timed its launch so that it would detonate near the F117- WW2 flak tactics.
http://www.mojeopinie.pl/zestrzelic_f117,3,1209735735

The Americans changed their OP since, and dont use the same entry and exit routs into AO's and the F-117 is the oldest of their stealth bombers with the worst stealth characteristics - the B2 Spirit is far more advanced.

There's nothing Nigeria can do without shooting its self in the foot.

More than 40+ Saffers were killed in a building in Nigeria, did you see South Africans jumping and saying "expel and boycott Nigerian pastors/churches"?

We have been supplying Mozambique with food and electricity for many years. It is only now we are temporarily importing electricity from them to augment our grid in the off peak hours. Anyway that would not be a problem because at the end of the day they would come back crawling calling for our help again.
