BH is now capable of briefly capturing land.

Nigerian soldiers are still running when BH attacks.

I don't think this army would be able to deal with a sophisticated enemy that can hit with great precision and heavy weapons.

for the ignorant south African fools who foolishly deceive themselves that more than half of Nigerian population is poor or live on less than one dollar a day. here's another slap to your dirty ignorant facesegrin.

Only a Third of Nigerians are Poor, Says World Bank
Going by the statistics released to journalists yesterday
in Abuja by the World Bank, only 55.9 million Nigerians
(about 33.1 per cent of the country's population put at
169 million) are living below the acceptable poverty
level, a significant improvement from the figure
released last February by the Nigerian Bureau of
Statistics (NBS) which put the poverty level at 112.519
million (62.6 per cent). The World Bank also predicted a
7.4 per cent growth rate in the country's Gross
Domestic Product (GDP).
The World Bank attributed the improvement in the
poverty statistics to the positive economic trend as
well as significant progress made towards poverty
eradication in the country by the government. The
poverty figure by the World Bank was drawn from its
2012/2013 poverty estimates while the one by the NBS
was from the 2009/2010 estimates.

The World Bank also predicted a 7.4 per cent growth rate in the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).....

....The World Bank said, in its second edition of the Nigeria Economic Report (NER) which was launched in Abuja that going by the recent rebasing of the economy as well as analysis from the new General Household Surveys (GHS) conducted by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) with the support of the Bank, new poverty estimates in 2010/2011 and 2012/2013 should be within the range of 35.2 per cent and 33.1 per cent respectively...
.......Although the previous NBS Harmonised Nigeria Living Standards Survey (HNLSS) 2009/2010, which took a larger study sample into account had estimated poverty rate at 62.6 percent, the Breton woods institution said it had strong reasons to believe that "consumption was seriously underestimated in the large HNLSS household survey in 2009/2010."...

....It stated that an analysis of a panel survey data (GHS) of 5000 households for 2010/2011 and 2012/2013 provided "evidence that consumption is likely higher than previously estimated from the HNLSS survey.".....
...The NBS had since placed a temporary suspension on publishing unemployment statistics pending the adoption of a new methodology, it was gathered...

..The Bank also said an unofficial assessments using accepted International Labour Organisation (ILO) methodologies would suggest that the unemployment rate in Nigeria is less than 10 per cent compared to the 25 percent figure by the NBS...

I remembered when we argued about this, we repeatedly said the poverty figures by the NBS was erroneous.

http://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/News/Exam-cheat-is-training-army-20130407

Adriaan Basson, City Press
Johannesburg - The officer in charge of training soldiers for deployment to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is an exam cheat.

And in another embarrassment for the SA National Defence Force (SANDF), a top UN official sharply criticised the discipline and combat readiness of South African soldiers in Sudan in a recent letter.

Brigadier General Sithabiso Mahlobo, who was found guilty in 2002 of cheating in exams, is in charge of the training of soldiers who are in the process of being deployed to the war-torn North Kivu province of the DRC.

He is the commander of 46 SA Brigade in Kengray, Johannesburg.

In a classified letter, Lieutenant Colonel T Mashalaba, the commander of an infantry battalion of the SANDF, which was until recently deployed in the troubled Darfur region in Sudan, flatly refused to allow his soldiers to receive training from the UN and the African Union (AU) after one of his soldiers died in an ambush last year.

Mashalaba was in command of the 10 SA Infantry Battalion when Rifleman Vincent van der Walt, 23, died in the ambush in October.

Soldiers' lack of discipline

A letter from a senior Unamid official, in which the quality of South African soldiers’ training was sharply criticised, had been distributed among senior South African army officers just more than a month ago.

The letter, which was apparently also sent to top officials at the UN headquarters in New York, mentions the soldiers’ lack of discipline and their arrogance.

According to Mabanga, all South African soldiers are properly trained when they arrive at a mission and it is not acceptable practice to receive training from another country.

He said: “If any defects in our training are detected, they must be reported to us. We have not received any such communication from Unamid.”

He said the army has no knowledge of the accusations against Mashalaba.

We know all your training pictures is just hot-air.

SA-LOA-N-DF tongue tongue

“I’m just a citizen now, a pensioner,” said former finance minister Trevor Manuel when he testified this week at the Seriti arms procurement commission, which is probing allegations of graft in South Africa’s arms deal.

To his left sat the man he reportedly dubbed “the gorilla on my back”, anti-apartheid activist and retired banker Terry Crawford-Browne, who spent his life savings fighting the deal now estimated to have cost R70-billion.

“I believe that the selected package was affordable and within government’s fiscal envelope,” said Manuel. He signed loan agreements with four international banks in 1999 to buy frigates, submarines, fighter aircraft and helicopters to replenish South Africa’s ageing defence force equipment stores.

Critics, including Crawford-Browne, have long held that the deal was riddled with corruption and amounted to an elaborate confidence trick in which arms companies promised offsets or countertrade worth R100-billion and the creation of 65 000 jobs. They did not materialise.

Pretoria - Cancelling loans secured for financing the 1999 arms deal would hurt the South African economy, former finance minister Trevor Manuel said on Wednesday.
http://www.iol.co.za/news/politics/cancelling-arms-deal-detrimental-1.1702025#.U898cThQF_A

South Africa purchased four frigates, three submarines, helicopters, jet training aircraft and Gripen fighter jets in a Strategic Defence Procurement Process that, in 1999, came with an estimated price tag of R30-billion. That figure has since ballooned to an estimated R70-billion, taking financing costs into account.

Battle experience doesnt count for anything.

South Africa trains battle hardened American soldiers... surley if combat experience of individual soldiers was relevant, it would be the other way around?

Your "combat experience" argument is:

1. Your last refuge as you know our men are better armed, trained, equipped and led.
2. Actually an insult to Nigeria as you were unable to defeat RUF or Charles Taylor in a DECADE of combat, and unable to do anything at all about BH

You are a joke, and your General salutes a South African.

Naijas cannot forward any meaningful debates only rhetoric, insults and misplaced narrow nationalistic arguments which have been time and time again smashed by SHEKUR and his boys.

No conventional warfare was ever fought by Nigeria accept an internal civil war of Biafra.
Nigerian airforce has never fired a missile in anger against another plane.
Nigeria only establish a special forces capability about two years ago and still lacks a lot.
Nigeria only fought in Liberia and Sierra Leone against a rag tag bandit armies.

Negative Arguments wont make Nigeria a better army in Africa.....For more than 50 Years Nijas were lied to as being this great army until South Africa emerged in 1994 with an undisputable, advance and professional military which is 100 years ahead on Nigeria.
