Bro,u missed the point.I gez u know, that post was done deliberately to over excite the. Public.
The north got educated islamically 400 years before Western education came to Nigeria.
The north could read n write and even communicate in Arabic while you guys were still going Tru the rat holes in the South.
The white man was amazed when he saw the organized and we'll structured style of leadership in the north which made them employ indirect rule.
If Western education is your source of societal advancement, then u need to visit China,Iran, Malaysia,Japan etc.

Have u asked why Queen Elizabeth honoured Tafawa balewa n Ahnadu Bello with the SIR title?Have u asked why the queen insisted, her plain must first land in kano before Lagos, when she came to naijas for the first time?

It's a fact that the South (WESTERN naijs) is more educated than the north, but the way u described it means u are being unfair.

A few in the elite class could. The overwhelming majority of the feudal North has always been illiterate even in Arabic.

And Western education is the source of advancement in the countries you're naming. A Japanese or Chinese engineer will cover much of the same curriculum developed in the West.

Foolishness! Stop basking in past glory and face the present and future. Only a fool relies on past glory.
Hausas currently have the poorest and most illiterate population in Nigeria (and that is not changing anytime soon).

The one major problem that we have in this country is: when we see a spade, we choose to call it whatever! The recent test that was conducted in Kaduna also included Maths. Thousands of teachers could not sum up elementary arithmetics means for primary four pupils.
We have forgotten so soon that Goodluck Jonathan out of justifiable concern built model schools for the almajiri to tackle this problem. For political reasons, his good intentions were jettisoned. Where were El Rufai and Muhammandu Buhari then? Jonathan only asked them to include English language, Maths and Science subjects to their Islamic stuff!

His point is very valid.....the "teacher" should not be teaching because clearly he is not cut out for the teaching job.
Re: Teacher From Sokoto State And His English On Facebook (Photos) by smogup: 9:53pm On Nov 17, 2017
They depend solely on corpers from the south. Their teachers hadly go to school. If the sokoto state government mistakenly employees any teacher from the south it has to be on contract bases with no promotion, no pension and other benefits. Speaking from experience

Hausa-fulanis have always been an embarrasment to the educational system and progress of Nigeria.

People in the middlebelt who started receiving education the same time with Hausas are now doing far better than them and even catching up with the south.

The fundamental misjudgment we've made as a country is to assume everyone is cut out for the formal education. Some of these peeps up north will do well as semi skilled artisans.
And the North needs not compete with the South by forcing their people to be educated; they should concentrate on their strength and focus on agriculture.
education is for every one. the earlier u stop thinking it is only for the southerners the better for you.

Though communicating effectively in English language is a good way to transfer knowledge its never alone the only way to. He could be a good math teacher but pretty bad at speaking Queen's English. If he could deliver in his field effectively and the students perform well in that field then his poor grammar should be excused.

Dont just judge him. He might be an Islamic or Arabic teacher... So neccessarily don't need to know English well b4 he can teach..

What are u even saying? If you are not qualify to teach on formal education, then why teach formal education if you are artisan?
he's just saying maybe education is not really for them, they should concentrate on agriculture and stop wasting their time

You poorly evolved boneheads keep using rulership as a yardstick for advancement and comparison with the South.
With all those wasted years of military rulership, you're still lagging far behind the South in human development and other key indices.

This shows that the education system in the country needs total over-haul... Imagine teachers who are to impact knowledge into students can't even express themselves in English especially on social media platform. While Nigerians are still recovering from the situation in Kaduna were many teachers were sacked after failing basic competency tests, a teacher in Sokoto state is in the limelight after "releasing a banger" on Facebook. See below;

Source; https://www.nationalhelm.co/2017/11/teacher-from-sokoto-shocking-posts-on-facebook.html

See dem again. Dem don come with their oversabi attitude. OP wey dey yab the teacher never quench the fire wey wan catch him bear-bear, na anoda man own him wan quench. OP please take note henceforth, it's "impart knowledge" , and not "impact knowledge". Never be too quick to judge others because no one is perfect!!!

I can bet my 30,000naira that 90 percent of nairalanders bashing these teacher will not get a hundred percent score in a primary 4 exam!! We all need to understand that the north uses hausa as their lingua franca in their daily activities and this usually makes it difficult for them to interprets communication in English unlike most of you who claim you are civilized by dumping your native languages, bearing silly foreign names and adopting everything western. I am proud of the hausa man he is proud of his origin and you know what? The westerners prefers them to you anyday any time.

What else do you expect when our mumu minister of education reduced the UTME cut off mark to 120 to suit his illiterate northern brothers. This is the end product of northern halfbaked education. Last time, it was kaduna teachers. I wonder what they teach their students.
The problem of north is not just hunger and poverty but Illiteracy.
