This is the Benin-City where I live o! For the past few months we have been living in fear.Kidnappers, Armed robbers, Hired Killers, Killer police men have taken over the City. Oshiomole is trying but he's not doing enough. PLEASE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT COME TO OUR AID

Great idea, but with poverty the best friend to many, i dont see it working, cos the trained men would be the one to hire their weapons out for the night to put food on the table at home

guy i feel u men , that state is cursed, take it or not, last two weeks a friends senior brother who is a renowned doctor  and who has lived the united states for almost 30 years only for him to return back and was gunned down and nothing has been done to unravel the people behind it.

They do give a damn, I mean look at how concerned even we are. But the police can do nothing without the proper training and infrastructure etc. With what will they use to investigate? This is not CSI, they can't trace any one and they certainly won't catch them, unless by some freakish twist of fate one of the robbers gives himself up and confesses!

The only improved security we have seen is around the governor and his family/AC members.

wat do you expect? wen d governor in beautifying the city decided to relocate a bus park right in front of the specialist hospital so that the agberos and miscreant will have free day, i mean free night with patient and health workers valuables. shame on the so called governor.

I wonder if the hospital was supposed to be guided like a bank.

I visited Benin City for the first time in 2005 and was really ashamed of the city and Edo State in general. My dad is Edo but I don't speak the language  My dad insisted I had to spend some time with family in Edo State and I agreed. The roads in the ancient city were in a very bad shape and I noticed that there was not much order in the place. My aunt [ Dad's junior sister ] took me around the city and I was just speechless with the state of underdevelopment there. So I'm not surprised that armed robbers are having a field day in Benin.  Oshiomhole has to do something fast before things spiral out of control. And how can the police ensure security when they are badly paid ? When will Nigerian leaders start to fix the country's problems? Time is running out on us. Hmn.
