More than hate comprehension seems to affect your capacity to make informed comments, It should be obvious that this projects were already contained in the 2016 budget and moved to the 2017 budget, as Fashola clearly said no new project was executed for 2017. But obviously you are only pleased by negativity so enjoy.

Does this make any sense to you?

It's now safe to conclude that you are poorly educated, have zero talent and probably do not have any meaningful training/skill.

You would be an outstanding failure in many professions (even magic) just like the people you defend.

If projects are rolled over from 2016 to 2017 do they still remain in 2016's capital appropriation?

Must a capital appropriation always be NEW PROJECT?

A member of the committee , Senator Barnabas Gemade had asked why the ministry (Works ) had zero performance of capital projects in 2017.

The minister , however , blamed it on the late passage of the 2017 budget .

Fashola said , “ The 2017 budget was passed in June. The procurement law requires a procurement plan which took till September. In following this law, the first release was in August. Most of the projects were going through procurement formalities such as tax identity , contract terms , even construction companies went on holidays . So , there were so many things.”

Chairman of the committee , Senator Kabiru Gaya , then asked about the amount of projects that were not procured in 2017 since there was a rollover of projects from 2016.

Fashola was unable to respond to the question , stating that even the Director of Planning in the ministry could not give a definite answer. He , however , pleaded with the committee to bring a detailed report later .

[s]Will you shut ya mouth there, clown.

You are the ignoramus here and not the person you are quoting. The link talked about money released FOR the first quarter OF 2017 and not money released DURING the first quarter of 2017. The time of the apparent "release" could have been towards the tail end of the year or at any time but it was for the first quarter of 2017.

And then you had the temerity to ask us to blame "legislative inactivity" as you put it for the abysmal performance of the 2017 budget. When will you guys realise that you fool no one. That this is the President's administration and that he has failed on so many grounds including in the performance of budgets since he came into power. Time for him to man up and take Responsibility for his adminstration for once.

Until we see the truth and kiss it, our journey will remain unwinding and unfathomable[/s].

Nonsense .

Common sense should tell you a rollover from 2016 was the sole input for 2017.

Next time agitate for your lawmakers to expedite the passing of the budget

I doubt you can ever get it, government ran 2016 budget before the passage of 2017 budget. Yes a project captured from 2016 and funded from 2016 budget even if it is executed in 2017 is still considered a 2016 project as long as it is being funded from 2016 budget.

Save your emptiness for space. Can you you comprehend? Do you lack an understanding of basic English? She said we released 310B for the first quarter of 2017, 2017 budget was passed in June meaning there budget of 2016 was still active during that period. Yet our reason by hate advocate do not even understand that Fashola actually said we didn't implement any new project for 2017 because they are under going procurement process suddenly translated to our reason by hate advocate to mean we did nothing. Such a sad disgrace anyone will go to school and cannot even comprehend basic communication. Pathetic. grin

Donald Trump has succeeded in giving Nigerians a new vocabulary "shithole" with which to describe ourselves. All over social media if its not that Nigeria is a shithole then it's that everyone from the north is a shithole. I wonder what new word another world leader would give us.
Ps: all this hating on northerners on social media and blaming them for all that is wrong in Nigeria well, you just have to visit any northern state to know just how unpopular this government has become. For the fact that a northerner is president today does not mean they are immune from the overall decline of the nation both in security and economy, they're also suffering. Perhaps it would be wise not to blame every and any notherner for the actions and inactions of the northern political elites moreover they're not so different from southern, eastern and western political elites. All of it may seem harmless on social media but in reality most northerners are now becoming highly unwelcome in other parts of the country even those with absolutely no ties to the fulanis.

Fashola should be wise enough to know that they are particularly interested in seeing him fail and spoil his good name, I think the best option for him now is to resign the appointment and give reason such as victimization as his reason for resignation and join up with the ezekweshili movt, that way he can regain his respect

Incompetence on the part of the Punch reporters is responsible for this misleading headline. This is how another newspaper, Premium times reported the same news..

No capital project implemented in Power Ministry in 2017 – Fashola
January 18, 2018

Kemi Busari

The power arm of the Ministry of Power, Works and Housing, under the supervision of Babatunde Fashola, did not implement any capital project in the 2017 budget.
The minister cited “low passage of the budget” as the prime reason for the non-implementation.
He made this disclosure on Wednesday when he appeared before the Senate committee on works to defend the 2018 budget of the ministry.
Responding to questions from Barnabas Gemade, Benue-APC, who asked why there was zero performance of capital projects in 2017, the minister said the late passage of the budget delayed procurement plans in most cases.
“The 2017 budget was passed in June. The procurement law requires a procurement plan which took till September. In following this law, the first release was in August.
“Most of the projects were going through procurement formalities such as tax identity, contract terms and even construction companies went on holidays so there were so many things.”
The minister however could not mention how many of the projects were not implemented stating that even his Director of Planning could not give a definite answer.
He further pleaded with the committee to allow him bring a detailed report.
“It is a tough task,” Mr. Fashola said. “We may be allowed to submit those details. The ending solution which has not found favour is the one that should be appropriated. Once you appropriate a project in a particular budget, it should not be lined up in another year.”

The former Governor of Lagos State told the lawmakers that Nigeria could not finance new projects every year due to its “enormous nature.”
He added, “Most of these roads are 50 km to 100km. I ask in your states, 5km takes 24 months then if we have more in a budget, we cannot finish it. It is not what we want. Our resources are not increasing in an exponential manner to our projects.”
In its resolution, the committee agreed that the ministry roll over projects that were not procured in 2017 to 2018 budget and represent a new report in a week’s time.

When you cannot comprehend you call it govt lie when in fact you simply don't understand basic information being passed to you. The links you posted talks about the 1st quarter of 2017, meaning the budget of 2016 was in play as 2017 budget was not passed till June 2017 and FG cannot spend capital provisions of an un-passed 2017 budget. If you are going to criticize govt atleast have the intellect tondo so and not the hatred to criticize. It is sad rather than focus on legislative inaction that scuttled 2017 budget. You can spend your life on the internet making uninformed comments to garner likes from your likes, but at the end you will still end up uninformed.
