The one that made Nigeria great

How? By refusing to return Nigeria to its regional government? Allowing the northerners to capitalise on that by keeping the country in this unitary system of government for their personal advantage.

d igbo man who brought d culture of coup to Nigeria and set us back by more than a century. Nearly leading to the destruction of d ppl of Nigeria when they killed all d leaders of north and west.
As if that was not enough Ojukwu started a secession that lead to the death of many Nigerians and destruction of properties. Now, tell me, are the igbos not truly on an evil pathway? Can we in our right senses ever allow these ppl who caused all ds havoc rule us again?

If Aguiyi Ironsi is posthumously 94 years old today how come Ty Danjuma , Obasanjo and Buhari who were already mid range officers the day Ironsi was are still in their 70s...it doesn't add up Sir

The January 1966 coup meant that a lot of people who won't have been promoted till much later had to get promotions...to fill gaps left by the dead officers.Same thing happened after the July coup.

If there had been no coup, many of them won't have been promoted till much much later.

Also, Obasanjo is 80 years old, TY is over 80, Buhari is in his seventies.Bubu left secondary school in 1961...

Was Nnamdi Azikiwe not Igbo

Aguiyi was a head of government and head of state. Military head of state. Zik was only a figurehead. In a parliamentary govt, the head of government is the prime minister. The president is just ceremonial. Tafawa Balewa was the head of government.

Ironsi did not plan the January coup...infact he was involved in putting down the coup.

His becoming Head of State was meant to be a temporary thing.(security issues)..but events changed the situation

I won't waste my time educating you on history. Continue to live in delusion.

God bless his memories cool

Actually, he should have punished Nzeogwu and company for murder...but he vacillated.

Subsequent military administrations learned from his mistakes...and promptly executed coup plotters.

The Niggar killed himself! Went around trying to placate 'certain' regions not knowing that 'certain' regions has already sealed his fate. Should have changed his batman Danjuma but typical with all Igbos: nothing de happen. Trusted his spiritual powers. It failed him. Jonathan repeated such errors.

Such a dumbass.

Ironsi is one of those, whose stupidity, caused the ills melted down on the Igbos.

If he had acted wise, the Igbos would still own this country.

Such a brilliant man with a stellar military career.

His only undoing was the creation of the Federal system of government in Nigeria undecided

Some ignoramuses are calling him a coupist undecided

Let me restate this for all to learn.
The leader of the failed Jan. 1966 coup Maj. Kaduna Chukwuma Nzeogwu hailed from Okpanam Local government in present day Delta state. Midwestern Nigeria and present day South-south.

Maj.Gen Aguiyi Ironsi was the highest ranking military officer at that time which made him an automatic apparent heir to the throne wink

If you think South- south is not Biafraland because of their oil, kindly note that Maj. Kaduna Chukwuma Nzeogwu is not an Igbo. grin
If you lots claim PMB to be a coup plotter, then Aguiyi Ironsi is one too. Same scenario different circumstances.

An igbo man was president,
An igbo man was CBN governor,
An igbo man was head of military.
But that wasn't enough. Igbo officers went about killing politicians and top military officers of Hausa and Yoruba extraction. They killed Tafawa Balewa for corruption and it was later discovered he had just 25 pounds in his account.
They set Nigerian on a path of doom and we have not recovered from it until now.

Later some of them will still open mouth to say the north is the problem of this country.
