The following pictures will be a guide for people who love to construct neck for their 2.4m dish .Mine was ground month and have been using it for the past 4yrs but plan to motorise it.I read all the thesis from season one to date just to get information on what and what to do before i get it done. picture 1: neck of the ground mount dish to be modified into motorise set up picture 2 : full welding, base ring and perfectly aligned handle to hold the jack picture 3 : the neck of the dish(note precision is very important here) picture 4 : the construction of the inclination and declination angle with adjuster. Note to get perfect alignment on your dish during construction ,measure the base of the ground mount dish and divide by 3 that will align your dish perfectly but in my own case i divided by 2.I later on re-adjusted my calculation and the result was perfect alignmnent. More pictures coming.

picture 5:both the neck and the base now fully coupled together to form neck for the 2.4m dish. picture 6:neck mounted on pole(note their was error on the neck .because the lenght of the base was divided by 2. picture 7 :correction on the neck (take note this when constructing your neck its very important.

picture 8:make sure your pole is plume at angle 90 degrees.that will aid the perfect alignment of your dish. This too is very important. picture 9.mounting the 2.4m dish on the pole.(NOTE where the base meet the standing pole there it formed "T".the cross bar at the base of the dish should be divided by 3 .For example if your total base length of your dish is 24inches divide by 3 that will give you 8 inches ,mark 8 inches and drill your hole. Then join your pole to the dish at that point that will give your dish perfect alignment and you will be able to get fringe reception like hotbird, nilesat, astra etc.In my first construction i made a mistake and thereafter correction it worked. picture 10.well aligned 2.4m dish

brite02 get a competent welder to do the job.You only need to supervise him otherwise he will not do a perfect job.I took me almost a week .I read from season 3 or 4 about a picture posted by George D on dish neck and i work based on that dish. The picture is good but after modification of my 2.4m dish i saw a mistake in George D picture which never worked with my dish and after re-adjusting the settings Gbam ! everything fall in place. This is the picture i base all my calculation on,but check the cross bar where the dish is mounted and the pole .There is a big mistake in that picture at the base of the neck.the base lenght was divided into 2 in that picture instead of dividing by 3.The dish will get good signal on DTH signal but not on out of footprint signal. To make sure you get out of footprint signal perfect your dish base lenght by dividing the total length by 3 . check picture on this http://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-331817.96.html |

@p2boy2buzy. Is your dish motorised? If yes, your lnb skew should be at 3'0 clock. Then your declination angle must be well adjusted for yur dish to see all available sats. |
