Well! Let's get some facts in here. Nigeria GDP $209 billion, Kenya GDP $75 billion. Nigeria's economy is three times the size of Kenya's. What's interesting though is that Nigeria's economy is 80% oil based. Why is this important? Because Nigeria does not tax the oil revenue, and that revenue does not belong the government of Nigeria. It's all owned by foreign oil companies. So Nigeria includes the amount in their GDP, but they don't touch the money. Here's the proof. Nigeria GDP $210 billion, Kenya GDP $75 billion - Amount of taxes collected: Nigeria $10 billion, Kenya $8 billion. Nigeria budget 2011 $25 billion, Kenya Budget 2011 12.5 billion. Population: Nigeria 160 million, Kenya 40 million. True revenue per capita Nigeria $10 billion divided by 60 million people = $63 or $0.17 per person per day. Kenya $8 billion divided by 40 million people = $0.54 per person per day USA $126 per person per day. Question to Nigeria and Kenya. How do you think your budget money is spent? Nigeria collects $10 billion and spends $25 billion. Kenya collect $8 billion and spends $12 billion. How are you guys filling those gaps between revenue collected and amount spent. Oh on the spending I'll give you a hint - 33% of both budgets is spent on the legislature salaries alone, before the civile services even comes in, I invite your comments
