Obasanjo met the petrol price 14 naira and he left it 75 naira without meaningful impacts in the lives of Nigerians, In 1999 when obasanjo left the prison he was owing 200,000 naira paid by Atiku and 8 years later, 0ta farm is worth 20billion naira, are you guys actually sane?

You all get deceived by this stupid fool who called himself Obasanjo, to hell with him and his supporters, listen to fela songs and you will know how bad and cruel this guy is.

@ Truly.
You miss my point. My analysis has to do with pre Babangida's Nigeria. Obasanjo returned as a clever thief. In all likelyhood might be a member of the billion dollar club. My point is Babangida set the tone for this new level of corruption we have today. Before Babangida Nigerian leaders gave out contracts with an understanding that you might dash them something but not specifically demand for X amount. It was a gentleman corruption. They stole like Good Christians and Moslem's. From IBB on they took center stage in every deal and we started witnessing over inflation of contracts. That is what has made Babangida the patron saint of today's level of corruption.

I guess you lots forgot Obasanjo was once the military president after he killed murtala and overthrown him, ask maybe ur father who Ali must go is, maybe you will know more about this devil called Obasanjo

Obj has no moral temerity to cast aspersion at any corrupt leader in Nigeria.he is the biggest thief of all time.he had every opportunity to write his

name in  African history book that contain the name of a living legend like MANDELA,instead he decided to trow tax payers money around to some

useless senators and rep members for show of shame they demonstrated during his THIRD TERM SAGA.he should come and account for billions of

dollars he has embezzled when he  appointed  himself as the minister of Petroleum.he has no respect for the rule of law and he imposed shaky shaky

president and vice president on Nigerians.he should keep quiet and allow good and sincere leaders like  soyinka and Buhari to pass judgment on our

corrupt leaders.

IBB is not suppose to be coming out to context as a presidential aspirant. Because he spend eight as a military president and he annualled June 12 election. Can we trust him with our votes? Someone should advise him to step aside.

This just show how narrow Nigerians are, we all angry that these guys are evil and bad for the society but instead of trying to do away with them both we are looking for the one who stole less or who did better while doing the evil deeds they committed, SMH

I love OBJ, I don't think many could have done beta in his shoes, it mustn't have been easy all those dogs scrambling for positions to gorge themselves on and he keeping them at bay. I still no gree say the Otta farmer stole TOO MUCH or any degree comparable to IBB's.

Very true. OBJ is grossly misunderstood. He made mistakes yes. But majority of people criticising him base their conclusions on opinions expressed in the Sun newspaper.

He did not steal anywhere near as much as any of the leaders before him (with the exception of Buhari perhaps).

Deji.Ariyo,

You thinking is as good as mine. OBJ is a thief compare to Gowon, but a saint compare to IBB. When not compare to anyone, he remain a thief.

But you shoul note that OBJ is out of the show now. He can not rule Nigeria again.

But also, what would IBB who did sooooo badly still be thinking of doing in power?

I am not an OBJ fan, but IBB boys should know that we can not be fooled.

I repeat, If they have stronger reason, they should showcase it to the world.

Note: For the first time in 1980, PMER(Parrallel Market Exchange Rate) surfaced in Nigeria.

Between 1981 and 1984, it vanished.

But as soon as Maradondo got power, PMER becomes a lucrative business, Why?

Maradondo knows all the gimmicks he played to bring Nigeria to where we are today.

But for IBB boys, We ( Nigerians) can not be fooled the second time.

Can he eat his cake and have it? Nooooooooooooooooooooooo.

In Nigeria, New trends are always traceable to a championate.
Fuji may be Barristar
Juju to Sunny
Afro Juju to Shina Peters
Pop music to may be Okotie
Commedy business to Ali Baba.

Corruption is unarguably for IBB. Even IBB supporter's dead parents will get this if given the question in heavenly UTME.

But pitiable that their living children still dont understand.

OBJ was a poor politician, vindictive, sometimes ill tempered, but he still remains Nigeria's best president till date. Though some may argue that the good policies under OBJ were engineered by El-Rufai (But then U still have to credit him at least for recruiting a good hand).

@Truly

I totally understand yr position and your anger may be justified, considering that the south east did not much benefit from the little growth we had during the OBJ years, but you still cannot argue with confidence that OBJ was a bad president.
This is a guy that made sure we paid our debts, saved 20 billion dollars within 8 years from the excess cude account. All of which Yardaua spent in 2 years, and we are now owing again (But we don't speak ill of the dead). I personally believe that OBJ made these comments to pave way for his annointed (GEJ) whic to me is counterproductive, considering the fact that GEJ seems clueless.

People like you don't understand the work of government, which is to create the enabling environment with adequate programs and legislation. It is not the work of government to start companies that they cannot manage (Government should get out of business completely). Which of the stuff either Universities or refineries will not fare better if handled by private firms. They easily deceive people like you with a few projects, which are intended to siphon money.

Personally, im my own perspective, I think OBJ had done his best to develop and strengthen our economy to meet international standard,  OBJ was the first military head of state that welcomed civilian rule in 1979, lots of achievement from 1975-79. Although, OBJ was not totally perfect, but He was still the best Former head of state that Nigerian has ever produced regardless of all his mistakes,

Have you heard Felas song about 2.8bn Naira Oil money missing?

That was 2.8 billion naira when naira was equal to Dollar. I believe 2.8 bn In 1979 = $12bn in 1992 when you factor inflation

Wayo man jam cunning man!
To pick the lesser of two evils- I'd pick OBJ.

In retrospect, OBJ performed creditably well. I'd score him like 55%, though he had several conflicts of interest.
Give it to him- he stabilised the country and moved us some steps forward.

I'm not sure we've made any progress since 2007.
