Some curse him for being appointed.
Some curse Buhari for this appointment.
95% of d some stand to gain a lot from ds appointment.
96% of the 95% are from this region.

Hi Festus,

Congratulations on your first day at work as a Honourable Minister of Federal Republic of Nigeria.

As a young radical and stubborn Niger Deltan and legal luminary, this is a golden opportunity to walk your talk in meeting the needs of these Niger Delta region with sustainable ideas.

Niger Deltans have been short-changed for long by older politicians. NDDC has consistently come short. Working with Chief Godswill Akpabio and Senator Ita Enang who are all lawyers like you, see how the law setting up the Commission can be reviewed to curb the current wholesale stealing of its budget.

Why is the region not the fishing hub of West Africa? Why are the youths not forming cooperatives to take advantage of agricultural programmes of FG? Why did Amnesty fail to make any real impact on the micro economy of local communities?

There is so much hope that you will spearhead a new people-oriented service delivery that may not balloon your bank account balance in the short term but will surely heighten your political worth and status for the future in the long term.

Be ready to step on toes and encounter stiff opposition but in every circumstance, let fear of God and welfare of the people be your driving force.

Hey Festus, you were born and prepared for this. Please, it will be a TRAGEDY and a MORTAL SIN to fail. Wishing God's guidance and protection.

Why are we like this and the quarrel as such? I'm not from that Region, but I think we should give kudos to Buhari on this,
if the Minister of State was from S/West,how will you reason? Good luck to both Sons of NIGER-DELTANS. Time to move that Region beyond poverty level.I expect both Keyamo and Akpabio to visit the Region, identify critical problems there, seat down together, put up a working system, structures and employ the locals as they do in Dubai, that in 50years now the future generations will be proud of Nigeria, not the time for ego or selfishness but selfless service to the nation as a whole.4-years time is counting.

thought this man said he is the incoming athorney general of the federation, but ended up been a junior irrelevant minister, what now happens to all the beautiful judiciary reforms he wanted to carried out. Nigeria is a big scam, fitting a square peg in a round hole all the time, if i be this man i will decline this insult.

I do not even feel these three people are even from Niger Deltans? Majority of the people of south south do not even feel them. You call Festus stubborn? To me Festus is just foolish boy influenced by prematured character and highly indiscipline boy. Akpabio was seen dancing thus showing that he will ever remained one of the most corrupt Nigerians. Rubbish. Am sure you are from the Niger Delta. Are you happy that those three people are from your region? Are you feeling that yes, we now have good representatives?

He is the minister of state. That means he takes orders from Akpabio who is the senior minister.

Resuming early on your first day in office isn't what we are after but the aftermath of it?

Will it end in praise or in prejudice?

Will you utilize your office to it utmost priority to be remembered for or be push as a rubber stamp minister?

As a legal luminary of high esteem before; will you bring your wealth of experience to bear to the utmost development of our country or you will join the bandwagon as your fellow colleaques?

Nigeria will be great again!!!

Ministers of state do not take from the main minister. Rather, they are given clearly defined functions and specific agencies or programs they oversee. However, they consult each other regularly as they share the same budget. Of course, there are instances of troubled working relationship as well as instances of smooth working relationship.

So true!

I grew up hoping people like Oshionmole would lead this country. But Lord Acton was right; Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely”.

You would always think you can make a difference, until you get there and see how rotten the whole system is. You have no choice but to join the bandwagon.
