Imagine stirring at your account balance & nodding your head saying to yourself, now I am ready for marriage.

How much do you think would give you that 'ginger' to propose to your girl? Abeg I no dey talk of "give girl belle & marry".

If you are waiting to have a certain amount in your account before you get married.... Then might never get married.

I got married in 2010 when I only had 20k in my account though working as a contract staff in a bank where I was being paid 54k per month. Fast forward to 2014, I started a business on burrowed money from friends and before the end of that same year , I became a millionaire . I have two houses now a car, a power bike and some millions left in my business account. I never had 100k in my account though I spent over 300k in the wedding , borrowing from friends and colleagues. Life is a mystery.

Will you be okay without money in your home?

UyaiIncomparabl:
There's no particular amount of money that ever makes one ready. If you're in with the right person with just 300, 000 naira, marriage will be bliss. You people should stop attaching happiness to money. Money is only a means to an end. undecided

Got married with less than 300k in my bank account. Less than a year later, Me and my expectant wife live in a 2 bedroom apartment, have a car apiece and our own house has reached an advanced stage of development. Its not always about how much you have in your account, Its about believing it can be better, praying and working towards that.

Really?

You girls are liking money too much these days o! cheesy

You better suffer with your man so you'll reap good fruits. Don't say I didn't tell you. grin

Ur the only reasonable lady among all those girls that actually made a very reasonable comment. Kudos to u dear... most girls in this generation is just a total waste of brain mass. I just pity their husbands to be...that's why most men would rather use them and dump them. But ladies like u with the right mind set/mentality, will not just go far, but will succeed...

Watch this video then you will know why she is desperate to get married Some wicked people especially ladies will say a man should not think about that. That what matters is that they should get married. That when they get married God will provide because it is written from the scriptures that he who finds a wife find a good thing. My girlfriend told me that and that made me run away from her because she doesn't look like a good thing to me and she seems to be lying about her age.

What matters is not how much you have but the reliability/stability of your source of income.

Money is happiness and happiness is money.
You can't enjoy marriage without money, love doesn't feed us or pay the bills.
So that makes money very necessary.

All is dependent on the location and parties involved.

Here in Ifitedunu, you do not need to have large sums of money in your account before deciding on getting married. All you need is to show capability, not capacity, to take care of your wife and children, if any.

I have already attended 7 wedding ceremonies this year and it is still February, 18.

We do not have too many rich young men here. All we have are promising and hardworking men. They are the ones women here submit to.

May God bless the very good people of Ifite. If it wasn't for Ifite, I'd still be unmarried, broke and lonely by now.

Spot on
MrBrownJay1:

thats because you wrongly assume that marrying someone automatically means having children with that person. there is a HUGE difference between marrying someone AND having a child with that same person.

- having a kid is a LIFELONG decision while you can separate from (and subsequently divorce) someone in just a few days.
- if you can both survive as a couple before marriage, why should anything be different after signing that piece of paper (aka if you both were happily eating garri before, then thats what you should settle with after marriage)
- whether married or single, nobody should ever dream of having children, unless they have the mean to properly care for these children (emotionally, physically and most importantly, FINANCIALLY )

You can marry with any amount, is just that both parties tend to be selfish, materialistic and have high expectations of the other partner
