I'm not suggesting that you should deny your passions when choosing a mate, but understand that you're not going to get everything you want from one individual. It's impossible and unrealistic. However, you should always get from a man what you need to be the best person you can be. If you pick from the same tree each time, don't expect to get a different fruit I call this the eve syndrome. Please shake it. At some point, you have to be totally honest with yourself and say, "This is who I am, and this is what I need to always keep my best foot forward." Stop challenging yourself to a battle that can never be won, and stop catering to your maternal instinct, thinking that you can teach a man to become what you need. Remember, some people can be with you but not for you.
