IBB's statement is deep and generally reflects on the views of northern officers!

If you imagine that Babangida actually had Yoruba officers who were his superiors and Yoruba soldiers among those he commanded, it will reveal the deep contempt northern officers had for Yoruba officers.

Almost the type of contempt the Chief Priests had for Judas when he returned the 30 pieces of silver and wanted to be treated decently.

you're wrong. a major isn't a junior officer. he's Infact a senior officer. Senior officer starts from the rank of major. like wise a sergeant in the rank and file

You keep bringing out this useless quote that was formed by some disgruntled elements to deceive themselves.

Why did Hausa/Fulani then allow a Yoruba man to become the president after the whole Abiola saga if our drums of war were indeed empty?
obasanjo is yoruba in body but hausa in spirit that is why the north trusted him with power,he was there as an umpire when awolowo was robbed in 1973 via 2/3 nonsense mathematics,
Obasanjo never benefited the Yoruba,he was always pro north, when the north went Sharia he looked the other way, when they started forming Boko Haram he looked the other way.

What I wrote there is a fact. Civilians see major as a very big rank. Majors may even call themselves senior officers, but senior officer in the Nigerian military starts from Lt. Colonel. Major and below are junior officers. That is why they must attend and pass the senior course before they can be promoted to Lt. Colonel. Ask any military man and he'll tell you same.

Yes, Hausas chose him Ekweme because they loved him too much, it had nothing to with 1993 election and the aftermath.

This guy is right. Major has respect amongst the non commissioned soldiers. Majors are usually used for the dirty work and they command most battalions hence why they can be commandants. But in military commissioned officers level they are still small boys. Even captains. Senior officers are red neck guys and above. Lt col. And it is hard to reach.

Because they knew OBJ will handover power to the North again. Because OBJ did same in 1979 when Awo was set to win the tussle to be president in Parliament. The constitution was such then in case of unclear victory in presidential poll.

Hausa Fulani are politically astute. They give you crumbs to secure the high table perpetually.

IBB and Obj are Generals (4 Star), TY Danjuma is a Lieutenant General (3 Star). Buhari leaving the army as a 2 Star General was by choice. As the C-in-C, he could have promoted himself, like the rest of them did. Or have you forgotten how Gowon promoted himself from Lt. Colonel to General (5 ranks up)?
