white english men generally do not date black women ie african women i think this is because black female beauty is not recognised in the western media, the western media only celebrates european beauty and english men have been brainwashed into beleiving that the european looking woman is the ideal.

From what i have seen a small minority of white english men do still date and marry black women but these tend to be black women who are very slim and have european facial features, from what i have noticed european men in general do not necessarily bother about skin shade as ive seen some with dark skinned and light skinned black women but in all cases the women they tend to go for are usually very slim.

unfortunately many black men who have been socialised in the western world also subscribe to the view that european looking women are also the ideal some even beleive that dark skinned black women are not as attractive as lighter skinned black women this is because they are victims of the extensive brainwashing and mind control perpetuated by the western mass media.

Black men who have been socialised in a majority black environment away from western influences tend to be more appreciative of black female beauty however the harmful effect of the western media is beginning to change that and we are now beginning to see black people even in africa who are buying into the western media's ideal of beauty ie light skin, european facial features.

here is an interesting article written by an african american guy on the type of black women that white men tend to go for and why:
http://abagond./2008/05/28/black-women-that-white-men-like/

he says in his article that white men tend to go for black women who look like:

Iman, Garcelle Beauvais, Sanaa Lathan, Angela Bassett

but tend not to go for black women who like:

Sade, Estelle, Brandy or Kelis

if you read the article he explains why - by the way i think this is his own personal opinion and not based on any empirical evidence or anything.

this is because they are victims of the extensive brainwashing and mind control perpetuated by the western mass media.

i second strongly with you on that point, some of us grew watching white romantic soap operas which projected white men and women to be superior, romantic and caring.i never watched a soap opera whereby a black man was potrayed as caring and loving.many black women have fallen a victim of this and they strictly date white men. All these hair extension we wear on our hair is all a result of media manipulation, we should enlighten ourselves and be careful with the illusion of western media and be proud of our colour and heritage because if we lose identity we lose our ways,

Very true, the negative influence that the western media has had on how we black people perceive ourselves should never be underestimated.

In the western world white female beauty is placed at the top of the totem pole and women of  other races are valued  according to  how  close they are to the supposed ideal.

Interestingly black men are viewed by the western media as sexual objects - i think this goes back to the times of slavery where black men were used as studs to "breed" female slaves to increase the master's slaveholding, this is where this image of the sexually virile, black stud comes from - this image has stuck and black men continue to be portrayed in the media as sexually desirable.
Re: Nigerian Women! by MrsChima(f): 10:38pm On Jan 24, 2011
I see a lot oyindo shows and STILL LOVE BEING A BLACK WOMAN. It has to do with HOW YOU VIEW YOURSELF. No one can make you feel like shit if you allow them to. I love being a strong black woman who love all of her curves, her thick lips, and perfectly shaped nose, and her sexy brown eyes. There is nothing I mean nothing a mofo would do to make me love myself any less.

Gotta love who you are boo!

Remember this: Just like you dying your hair blond, the white chick is tanning her skin brown.

I just want digress a bit while also staying KIND of on topic lol. . .

All stereotypes have some truth to them though. I don't wear weave. The most I would wear is braids or maybe ONE TRACK to make my bang thicker but full head of hair, no because I have plenty. There are some black women, however who wear weave 24/7, fake nails, lashes, EYE BROWS even; etc and then wonder why we are type casted as weavie wonders. Some black women WILL NOT and cannot leave the house without weave or wigs, they are literally imprisoned by their own minds and self hatred. These women who are then type casted by society based on their ACTIONS make it harder for the rest of us and even make an extra effort to draw us down as a people to their levels. . .for example:

One member on here, who is unfortunately an African (does not deserve such a title), called herself poking fun of my dark skin, my "big forehead" and suggested that I wear weave every day like she does, she too falls into the brainwashed category believing my natural state can be "cured" with faux hair and make up, but what I have over her is a sense of self and also natural beauty. wink I do not care to fall into anyone's category but that of my own. I am 100 percent authentic. My point being, whites push their views of beauty on colored ppl but it is up to us to decide if we want to over look it and appreciate ourselves or if we want to sink to the lowest of lows and demonstrate self hatred and then having the nerve to be upset when called out.

Some black men are able to control their desires and or urges however some are not and when they see a woman who they find attractive the start behaving like they have not even an OZ of sense, grabbing, yelling and staring and then wondering why they are viewed as s3x fiends. Slavery may have something to do with their mentality but it is nonetheless pretty bad of a trait to have.
