This is how it works. If you have vast experience or you're an expert in a particular field, another university may wish to employ you on visiting basis for the sake of their students to gain from your wealth of experience and you'll be paid (not full). You'll need to attain a certain rank and Only a very few percentage of lecturers are involved. ASUU has nothing against ghost workers.
ASUU has nothing against ghost workers so u guys encourage it na...ASUU have luck oga una have luck our leaders no really serious with education

It doesn't support university autonomy. The governing council will be rendered useless and neither can the university hire or fire without going to Abuja. Nasu members who has been receiving theirs since February can tell you their ordeal in terms of irregularities in payment. Now they are on strike too

Is it from Abuja that employments are made? Of course no. But now, the university management need to notify Abuja before the hire or fire

Is that so? Okay, now one can understand why CBN, FIRS, NASS and NNPC are exempted from IPPIS.
How sure are you they won't be enrolled on a later date just like what is currently happening to ASUU?

This is a right step in the right direction. If ASUU have nothing to hide, let them embrace IPPIS. This will even open more employment opportunities for unemployed youths and graduates
The thing is, even those who embraced it are agitating to be taken out. NASU and SSANU have declared two weeks warning strike already. The system like any other thing in Nigeria is already corrupt with ghost workers. Students will only be the victim of all of this

Where those recruited academic or non academic staff?
Of course, I passionately like yoruba because I'm getting married to one. If I see wrong with my tribe, religion, or region I criticise it scornfully. I'm nt criticising tribe here bt group of ppl wth selfish interest. The way Hausa-Fulani play politics is completely different from the way ordinary ppl there live their life. U can entrust Hausa man with money and sleep comfortably expecting no harm but u can't trust Hausa Politicians with power without fear.

Both, they recruited twice academic separately from non-academic.

Why is ASUU proving difficult to break? this whole strike saga is just because of their selfish interest, they are only interested in collecting multiple salaries, kudos to federal government
Apart from ASUU, only the medical doctors can hold up to the FG. Do you want everybody to have zero dignity and self worth? Maybe when both ASUU and NMA are cowed you'll be happy!

The reason they are going on strike is because ASUU was beginning to taunt them abi some of IPPIS teething problems. If FG succorms to ASUU demands, then many other organizations will want to pull out and go back to the opague system.

Make una commot and see the outside world away from hiding inside university community, no where do on earth does an employee tell an employer how the method he wants to be paid with

So, a VC can hire as he wishes and then pass the bill to FG, that means he can even claim to have employed 50 people whereas only 5 were really employed and then collect the salary of the other so called 45 people? Can you now see that even by your own statement why IPPIS is needed.

For the fire, civil service rule does not allow anyone to just be fired like that so don't give us this crap here.

Is it the VC that owns the university
Is it the VC that has the sole right to employ people in the university
I'll stop responding to ignorant people like you because you don't know how the university system is been run. The fact remains that no employment can be made in the university without notifying them at Abuja and vice versa. Ippis would not check ghost workers in any way; it is the sole responsibility of the government to ensure that they wipe out ghost workers in her civil service

I am not a lecturer anyway. But an employee is neither a slave to an employer as well. You cannot just be taking anything thrown at you because you are an employee. Again, no where in a sane country is the education system so poorly funded by government. There were talks of University autonomy since many years ago but nothing has happened.
Additionally, why must the system have "teething" problems and not take off smoothly? Are we cursed not to do something quality right first time? Like I said students will only continue to suffer for no just cause which unfair on government part especially

Thank you , Mr President. I stand firmly with you on this. Employees cannot dictate the rules of payment to employers. ASUU has been so overbearing and corrupt. If they don't resume, advertise their positions.
isbit possible for FG to call for Universities to resume and striking lecturers resume work or get sacked and the useless ASUU disbanded?

I still cannot understand how an employee should be mandating his employer on the method through which his salary should be paid.

I think the best thing for an employee is to look elsewhere if he is no longer ready to play by the rules of his employer than dictating to his employer how he must be treated.
I just shared this

Agencies that generate their own money are not under IPPIS because they(agencies) determine their workers salaries and every other allowances. Infact they remit money to FG like FIRS,NNPC,CBN and others.
Those under IPPIS are MDAs that depend on FG for funding of any kind which sadly universites fall under.
God bless you
