Former Lagos State governor Bola Tinubu has described the move by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to repeal the Public Office Holder (Payment of Pension Law 2007) as “bold and courageous”, Igbere TV reports.

The law provides for payment of pension and other entitlements to former governors and their deputies.

Mr Sanwo-Olu told the State House of Assembly of his intention on Tuesday during his presentation of the proposed N1.155 trillion 2021 budget.

Tweeting on Wednesday, Tinubu expressed his support for the governor’s plan and congratulated him on the budget proposal.

“Congratulations to Governor Sanwo-Olu over the Y2021 budget which he appropriately christened ‘Budget of Rekindled Hope’. This audacious and enterprising budget will empower our people and begin to rebuild Lagos State,” the APC leader wrote.

“In particular, I would also like to commend the Governor for the plan to commence the repeal of the Pension Law giving pension packages to former governors and their deputies.

“This is a bold and courageous move by Mr. Governor and I wholeheartedly support him. I encourage all APC loyalists to do the same.”

Sanwo-Olu told the assembly he planned to repeal the law “in light of keeping the costs of governance low and to signal selflessness in public service.”

Igbere TV reports that the move if granted will see an end to the payment of pension to former governors of the state including Babatunde Fashola and Tinubu.

Tinubu might even be the one that brought the idea of stopping pension to those people in the first instance.

As if he was not aware. Don't be surprised if this is targeted at further humiliation of Ambode. I don't trust these politicians at all.

Any which way, he'll continue to make his never ending profit from the wide purse...

So who is deceiving who?

Is it the errand boy (whose political fate we all know where it lies)?

Or

The Baron Lord (whose greediness if transformed to electricity; can shocked Buhari to death.)?

While

I'm as confused as the HOT Ewedu and Amala iya-basira served me this afternoon..

This might be Tinubu suggestion, so no witch-hunting there.

We know you are the brain behind the new law. Thank you sir. We know it would be political suicide for your boy Sanwo-Olu to even imagine such a law without your nod. Who dash am mind?

Please let this new law spread to other states like the endsars protest.

Lagos has d highest pension for her past governors which must be cut down and let people or civil servants dat worked to 35 yrs to enjoy d real benefit of good governance instead of someone dat was been selected by tinubu to govern for 4 yrs or 8 yrs

But all dis news na to show say d governor dey work...all na lie...everything is a game plan...creat job opportunities and increase d minimum wage in Lagos...

All na wash.

They will publicly say something, but underground they do something else.

I wont be suprised if the Lagos Assembly ratifies the bill.

He developed a long term plan for Lagos some years ago and he's jealously guiding the execution of the plan.
Today, Lagos is one of the top 5 largest economies in Africa.

Lagos is the Economic hub of Nigeria.

Lagos is the city with
the third highest number
of millionaires in Africa.

Lagos has one of Africa’s
busiest ports.

Most developed state in Nigeria.

May we all have political godfathers like Tinubu in every state in Nigeria.

Sanwo Olu doesn't have the balls to reprieve such law without the backing and approval of his Godfather Tinubu and Fashola. These are part of their 2023 plans in order to prevent opposition party from using such to attack them. The rubber
stamp legislative will approve it speedily since the Father Tinubu has given the go head.
Nothing new here, besides they have other avenues where they are raking their billions from.

The joke is on the gullible ones who don't know that there is no way Gov Sanwolu would take such action without express approval from Tinubu.

Besides, this is just a masterstroke to win back public confidence and probably rekindle his damaged 2023 ambition aftermath the EndSars saga!

Tinubu think say we no know?

Agbaya dey disguise!!!
