Most Nigerians believe that MARRIAGE=HAPPINESS, so they will gladly marry anyone to "look happy".

One of the majo reson is this, people tend to look out for with wot dey can see physicaly in the other person, not considering wot dey cant see, surch as the LOVE, PASSION AND EMOTION. dis are wot we should look out 4, not wot we can see e.g BEAUTY, MONEY and lot.

Lust, love of money or power, family or peer pressure(for older people). For some there are already clear indications that their significant other is not right for them but they choose to ignore the signs often times leading to divorce, or abuse. Just because your are the oldest child in your family and all your siblings are married does not mean you should cave to pressure and marry just anyone that come around.
