I only know his dad was arrested to find out his whereabouts or to bait him to come out,the cops do this all the time which is illegal btw.
As for the sister and friend,it might be a robbery syndicate they formed,then the guy used the opportunity of having secluded his victims to where they are powerless to explore his sexual and killing fantasies.
