dayokanu:Europa league still dey there nah. Besides whether we leave Champ's league in 1st round or leave quater finals, same thing (asides the money) . With the size of our squad, me I won't mind us opting out of competitions at this rate. |

One of the advantages of being a 'top' side. Manchester United struck a training-kit sponsorship deal on Monday, the Premier League champions saying they believed it was the first such agreement in English football.http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/Sport/Football/5739514-147/man_united_strike_66m_training-kit_deal.csp |

^^ Not really about being a 'top side' - its about being commercially savvy. Liverpool's shirt sponsorship is nearly four times ours - I don't think anyone would claim they've been more of a 'top' side than us in the EPL era. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread (for Arsenal Fans) by coogar: 10:18pm On Aug 22, 2011 |
debosky: they are. . . . they have won the league 18 times plus 5 champions league titles. what have arsenal won? even if liverpool are not doing too well these days, they have a better brand out there than arsenal cos of their rich history. |

coogar: Oh shut up you muppet - Arsenal has more worldwide appeal than Liverpool, it simply hasn't been tapped to the same extent. The biggest club in the biggest city in the UK has more appeal than some has beens from the North West. |

It doesn't make sense paying top dollar to have your company on Arsenal's kit at the moment. There're atleast 3 more rewarding exposures available in England at the moment. |

Bayern Munich and Deutsche Telekom AG are to continue their successful partnership into the future. http://www.footballshirtculture.com/sponsorship/bayern-munich-and-deutsche-telekom-extend-sponsor-deal.html http://www.sportsbizasia.com/news/bayern-munich-sign-biggest-shirt-deal-deutsche-telekom/ Bayern Munich has landed the biggest lead sponsorship deal on the planet: £25.5 million (€25 million, $37.3 million)a year from Deutsche Telekom, whose T-Home brand adorns the Bundesliga team’s shirts. The deal — which runs through 2013 — puts Bayern atop BNET’s Global Football Sponsorship Deal League (see below), vaulting Liverpool F.C., Manchester United and Real Madrid, who all cut new deals this year. http://www.bnet.com/blog/advertising-business/bayern-munich-signs-deutsche-telekom-to-largest-ever-football-sponsorship-deal/3555 You now see that when we say Arsenal would be the most popular club among retards, the argument has a lot of substance |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread (for Arsenal Fans) by coogar: 11:01pm On Aug 22, 2011 |
debosky: arsenal have more appeal and it hasn't been tapped? excuse me, mr retardo. . . . .how do you tap appeal? it's either the appeal is there or not. arsenal as a brand must be shitty. . .if it's valuable, investors will find the brand no matter where. . . liverpool are a bigger brand than arsenal. . . .that is a fact unless you are a brainless gaynner.
the biggest city in england is manchester, not london. the 2 clubs combined in the north west have 37 league titles between them . . . .i urge you to add up all the other clubs in the country to that of london and you are nowhere near 37. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread (for Arsenal Fans) by debosky(m): 11:20pm On Aug 22, 2011 |
coogar: By going on tours so people can get closer access to the brand beyond just being on TV or going to Austria every year. By cancelling outmoded deals signed in 2003/4 and renegotiating better deals now, like Liverpool did with Carlsberg, like Chelski did with Fly Emirates.
Investors want a clearly defined unique selling proposition - if this proposition is not made to them, they will not sign on.
I disagree - the valuation of the respective clubs disagrees as well.
You are either a dimwitted unicellular organism, or London is no longer in England, or 12m is less than 0.5m. Re: Arsenal Fans Thread (for Arsenal Fans) by coogar: 11:42pm On Aug 22, 2011 |
debosky: arsenal need the investors more than the investors need arsenal. if arsenal are a bigger brand, investors would queue at the emirates to get deals. . . .mouth watering deals that wenger would sign away.
valuation ma arse. what arsenal have over the others is their stadium. apart from that, arsenal are wackity wack. |

Re: Arsenal Fans Thread (for Arsenal Fans) by debosky(m): 11:49pm On Aug 22, 2011 |
coogar: Clubs approach investors for sponsorship most of the time - that is the work of the commercial arms. It makes little sense for a big sponsor to approach Arsenal at the moment when Emirates dominates exposure so much at the moment.
When you are shown superior information you can't refute, you end up resorting to wisecracks, typical Sharon behaviour. |

http://brandstrategy./2008/09/25/chelsea-arsenal-manchester-united-and-liverpool-fc-brands/ considering arsenal haven't won a penny since 2005, how then do you have a more valuable brand than the scousers. liverpool have more followers than arsenal. . . .forget your mates in ojuelegba posing to be arsenal fans. they are unofficial. |

It still baffles me so much how Arsenal rank so high on Forbes biggest sport franchise Ranked way above much more notable team wonder the basis of their measurement |

God! Wenger is so pathetic http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/-i-m-prepared-to-speculate-in-the-market- “We are never afraid to take a gamble,” said Wenger. “But to buy a player is always a gamble anyway. So take the fucking gamble anyway, after-all it's not your money. We all know signing players is the same as playing casino, the only difference is you use your personal money at the casino. “I look at the players and if they are good enough. People forget we have bought players - Gervinho, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jenkinson, Ryo - and you will see over the season they are top-quality players but at the moment we have to give them some time.Let me put the 1st sentence in familiar way: When we see a good player, we will buy. Yes, we need to give those players some time, maybe 3years from now. I thought you started building the team some years ago oga WenGAY, just like Dayokanu will Oh I get it, the foundation isn't solid enough so we cannot continue building. let's continue solidifying that foundation or better-still find a new land. please shut-up already and do something, action speaks louder than voice uncle Arsene (better-still baba ijebu as they call you on Nairaland). People may feel you're stubborn? We don't feel you are, you actually are and how long did it take u to realise that. Thank God this time around we don't get to hear: Vermaelen and Rosicky are like new signings. Yes Monsieur Wenger everybody know you've brought in good players. You brought in the ones that could go a season (49 matches in total) without losing a game and those that could not win sh1tt in 6 seasons. We've heard you, now you can start buying the right players. You don't have to wait for people to say 'buy' |

coogar: Stop screaming yourself hoarse - we have finished in higher league positions than Liverpool in almost every year since then, we've appeared in more finals and had more CL appearances. The fact remains that our brand value currently exceeds Liverpool's - I have given you three independent sources to verify yet all you can come up with is a 2005 reference. dayokanu: Shirt sponsorship deals are only ONE measure of the brand value. Besides, if Arsenal were to sign a fresh deal today for shirt branding, rest assured it would easily equal Liverpool's if not exceed it. Consistently rated higher on the Forbes list and on specific brand-valuation lists and no one has provided anything to contradict that evidence. |
