I don't know what truly happens but we all should stop playing the victim card always, since she comes out to say the environment is dirty they should just clean up the place and present the before and after clean up picture no big deal.

The local government chairman locked the market not her.

The way things work in Lagos is this. Because every market is under the purview of the Oba of that area, the oba has representative that market hence Iyaloja or a babaloja.

Every Oba reports to the Oba of Lagos hence his Iyaloja is the head of all the market heads. The markets are under the purview of the local governments and when the LGs take decisions, they let the market head know so that theu can meet the traders and sort it out.

If you have businesses in lagos, you must pay ishakole directly or indirectly to iyaloja of Nigeria-lagos. If you fail to do, your businesses would be threatened. If you are stubborn, they would be closed. Usual excuse- poor compliance with state environmental law.
