Gov Umahi of Ebonyi state is only Igbo governor that is serious. There are no sit at homes in Ebonyi
All other Igbo state governors by their action or inactions are giving tacit support to the sit at home despite publicly speaking against it. Why would people not sit at home if you all major markets be locked up on mondays and motor parks and keke and okada stands to be shutdown? even if the public want to end the sit- at -home how can they do if their places of business are locked and transport is not available?
dettolgel:

This is possible because of the ineptitude of the past and present government.

How can a section of the country be controlled by forces outside the control of the state and federal government. The intimidation of the people by IPOB is a clear reflection of the failures of the security apparatus of the government. Likewise the incessant attacks on innocent and law abiding citizens going about their normal businesses as experienced across the country is also an indication of the inefficiency of the government.

Soludo might be the chief security officer of Anambra state but the duty of securing the lives and property of every citizens of this country irrespective of their geographical locations within the borders of this country lies mostly on the laps of the FG. Nevertheless, the states, local government and communities need to work hand in hand with the federal government to protect the people.

When it comes to security every state could only do as much as the current existing security structure permits.

SE generally is safer than Benue state. that's the fact.
by the way Omenka
you're from Benue and we all know how fulani herdsmen are using Benue people for suya always.
but the terrifying part is that since all these menace you've never ever ever in your life criticize the murderous Fulani herdsmen or call them out.
why?
are you telling me that you're scared of calling the people killing your own people at will out?
of course we all know it's for political reasons.
so you choose politics over your people's blood.
it's that not wickedness?
omenka you're a bloody hypocrite.
you're wicked and callous.
you can't even simply call fulani herdsmen killing your people out so it won't appear that you're siding the Igbos yet you're here sniffing at any pant igbos are wearing.
omenka you're too old for these childish nonsense.
at your age you're still following under 20s to throw banters online.
our people says that ana akali ife akali (dem dey overgrown some things)
no wonder most nairaland veterans you're calling to come back and join you in your childish escapades do ignore you.
are you not ashamed of yourself and your hypocrisy sometimes?

It is locked because the people are scared of being attacked if they open their shop and the security operative are not even proactive to help me.

Blaming the state government is like saying they El Rufai would have ended terrorism in Kaduna state if not for the people.

Or that the governor of Borno State would have stopped the incessant attacks if not for the people of the state.

Or that the marauders killing the people of Benue state would have been eliminated by the governor of the state if not for the support the marauders get from the people of Benue state.

I am talking about markets being locked. Traders do not get choose whether to open their store or not. This is were SE governors are tacitly supporting the sit-at -homes by allowing those markets to be locked. Same goes or motor parks, keke / okada stands .

Try meditating on encouraging verses, it brings strength and even understanding.

Psalm 120
King James Version
120 In my distress I cried unto the Lord, and he heard me.

2 Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.

3 What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?

4 Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.

5 Woe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar!

6 My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace.

7 I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war.

Psalm 113: 9
King James Version
He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the Lord.

Psalm 107
King James Version
107 O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

3 And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.

4 They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.

5 Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

6 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.

7 And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

8 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

10 Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;

11 Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:

12 Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.

13 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.

14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.

15 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

16 For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.

17 Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

18 Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.

19 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses.

20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

21 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

22 And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.

23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;

24 These see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep.

25 For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.

26 They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.

27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's end.

28 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.

29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

30 Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

31 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

32 Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.

33 He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground;

34 A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

35 He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.

36 And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;

37 And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.

38 He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

39 Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.

40 He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.

41 Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.

42 The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

43 Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

If the governors forced the market to open are they going to force commercial motor operators to convey those who want to go to the market?

What about the banks and other non-market based private businesses did the governors locked those up as well?

Or do you think that the shop owners and the potential customers live right there in the market?

Did you also forgot that in those states civil servants and bank workers couldnt get to their places of work because there was no transportation?

You have cunningly inserted in your comments that the governors in SE are tactically supporting the sit at home.

I find it hypocritical how you have refused to acknowledge that the failure of the FG to improve internal security has contributed greatly to this mess. Rather you are blaming governors that have no constitutional power over the security apparatus.

I may understand your disdain for IPOB but do not let it cloud your senses of the true situation of things in this country.
