I have read, heard and listened to cases of women asserting that men have problems with a woman becoming more successful than they are, which is to an extent, true.
But the issue is not even just that we have men who have a problem with a woman becoming better and more successful than they are; the issue we must not pretend does not exist is that often times when the woman becomes better and more successful than her man, HYPERGAMY naturally sets in.
No matter how lower than other men or however a little higher up the ladder he is to her, a woman feels she deserves the best of men, and we have seen it play out over and over, even if the woman remains in the marriage and it becomes a living he.ll. Women overestimate their worth and importance.
This is one of the natural root cause before we start talking about esteem, insecurities, and then blackmail statements like "men are afraid of or can't handle strong abi successful women". Even the poorest or lowliest of women no dey date/marry down, except of course she is in a hurry to settle. It's rare.
So, unlike men who want more women when they become successful, women begin to see themselves as men who no longer need men or become selective of men.
In other words, women go for quality (HYPERGAMY), and if they don't find, they act like they don't need men, while men go for quantity (polygamy) and so, just as we have women who won't embrace polygamy, we also have men who have no idea and cannot deal with HYPERGAMY when success happens.
Nonetheless, it is not entirely true that men don't want women to do better, because there are still more men supporting, investing, building, setting up, employing, patronizing and changing the lives of more women with connects, links, opportunities, jobs, businesses etc, than there are more women doing same for men.
The best of men are still men.
