ALTERNATEID:false documents! Lol. Can you please explain why INEC would receive a supposed document in 2010 when your Tinubu was not contesting for anything in 2010? The typing further proves it, the left and right border of the document isn't aligned at all in 'justified' format. You know what justified alignment means in typing right? See the docket in 1993 the typing is justified, straight borders on left and right. How can a US document in 2003 not be justified?? I have strong reasons to believe that so called embassy letter is not genuine. Not like it will change anything as na naija we dey, but just for the sake of knowledge. I have shared some points to note earlier. Here is another, that document has a typo that is hard to ignore. The red flags! It reads the United States and it's territories It should be ITS not IT'S 2. The typing alignment is not justified format, even the 1993 document was properly aligned in justified typing format. How could a 2003 not be? Compare the two below. 3. Inec supposedly received a document in 2010 when Tinubu wasn't vying for any post in 2010.

Islie: Kids everywhere. Where did we get it wrong as a people? The funds in his accounts were linked to drugs and he was indicted, yet the funds were released to him? Does this make sense at all? How much in total was in his accounts, how much was released to him, and how much was forfeited? The amount forfeited was what should have been paid as tax on the funds. If it was a case of an indictment for drug-related offenses, the entire funds would have been forfeited and he would have been extradited to the US to face criminal charges. How many drug barons arrested/indicted/convicted have had their funds released to them in the history of any country, let alone the US? |

From the Consulate letter, he was not arrested or convicted at any time. It now rest on the Nigerian judiciary to determine whether FORFEITURE is same as FINE OR whether plea bargain equals forfeiture.. Lots of politicians in Nigeria have forfeited properties when they couldn't prove their source of finance but have not been found guilty of any offence 1 Like |

ITbomb:the consulate letter is false. The typing isn't justified format. An official document in 1993 typing was well aligned in justified format, meaning the left and right borders were straight. How can a document released by the US in 2003 not have justified typing format? Also it was received by Inec in 2010. Why would Inec be receiving docs from Tinubu in 2010 when he wasn't vying for any office in 2010? Compare 2003 and 1993 docs below I have strong reasons to believe that so called embassy letter is not genuine. Not like it will change anything as na naija we dey, but just for the sake of knowledge. I have shared some points to note earlier. Here is another, that document has a typo that is hard to ignore. I'm well aware many of this so called noise makers will not give this issue a rest until they begin to see what they like. So this is truth, they can either like it or go to hell. Asiwaju is here to contest for the office of the president of Federal Republic of Nigeria. Evidence have already been provided clearing Asiwaju of any wrong doing in the US, yet this set of noise makers won't let the matter rest. Asiwaju should start suing any news outlet that continue to peddle that falsehood about him. Period. |

You do not report to the authorities and you suffer the humiliation of forfeiture. Na so you reason reach. See the truth and take it for its facts. |

HardMirror: He didn't enter a plea bargain. Stop exposing your ignorance. Civil forfeiture in the U.S. is state vs. property, and the owner of the property or asset or funds is never charged to court. If it were criminal forfeiture, then the issue of plea bargain would come up. This is what many of you don't really understand. Google search "civil forfeiture" and learn. |

In civil forfeiture, assets are seized by police based on a suspicion of wrongdoing, and without having to charge a person with specific wrongdoing, with the case being between police and the thing itself, sometimes referred to by the Latin term in rem, meaning "against the property"; the property itself is the defendant and no criminal charge against the owner is needed.[1] In contrast, criminal forfeiture is a legal action brought as "part of the criminal prosecution of a defendant", described by the Latin term in personam, meaning "against the person", and happens when government indicts or charges the property that is either used in connection with a crime, or derived from a crime, that is suspected of being committed by the defendant;[1] the seized assets are temporarily held and become government property officially after an accused person has been convicted by a court of law; if the person is found to be not guilty, the seized property must be returned. The tests to establish the burden of proof are different;[16] in civil forfeiture, the test in most cases[24] is whether police feel there is a preponderance of the evidence suggesting wrongdoing; in criminal forfeiture, the test is whether police feel the evidence is beyond a reasonable doubt, which is a tougher test to meet.[3][16] 1 Like |
