What God expects from parents
1. Put the scriptures in front of your children - it prepares their hearts to receive Christ

2. Create boundaries for them - if they don't cry as kids, they will make you cry as an adult (don't give a child a phone, teach them to eat right, create curfew, screen their friend's background, say no to them, teach age appropriate sex education, create boundaries regarding who they interact with)

3 Make them conscious that they are carriers of the blessing of God. Pass down the covenant

4. Train them in the way they should go and in the way of their individual gift or bent. Know their personality and tailor your training to that.

Everybody wants something but not everybody gets what they want. Because life doesn't give you what you want. Life gives you what you REALLY want.

The difference is:

What you really want is what you are willing to give up something for and what you get is tied to what you are willing to give not what you want.

What you want is what you are willing to get. What you really want is what you are willing to give.

What you get is not tied to what you are willing to get. It's tied to what you are willing to give.

In a sense, what you want is captured by your vision, what you get is captured by your legacy.
Because your legacy is what you've done and what you are leaving behind.

Your vision is the picture of your destination, your legacy is the mileage you have come across to get there.

Truly great leaders are not driven by what they want to accomplish, they are driven by what they want to leave behind.

Knowing fully well that what defines your future is your vision but the script that describes your life is your legacy.


How do you build a great legacy?
1.) Make a positive impact on everyone you meet and everywhere you go. Let your words and actions leave people better than after you meet them. Realize your legacy is what people remember after you're gone. 3 types of legacies - positive, negative, nil (worst kind - when the encounters people had with you is forgettable).

2.) You must be able to be a solution provider and not a problem for people to solve. Everytime you solve a problem, you create value and it will one day be rewarded with wealth. Value will be rewarded, it cannot be destroyed.

3.) You must consciously be, and give, and do your best, in every situation and in every opportunity. There are many versions of you that wake up with you in the morning (sad self, best self, lazy self etc) but choose to take your best self only with you into the day

Never stop at being your best always compete with your best self to be better.

If you keep competing with yourself, one day there will be no one for you to compete with. You will start breaking records.

If your name was put in the referee part of someone's CV and they attached it to an application for a job at somewhere you worked before, will they get the job or will your name bring back bad memories to the employer?

The things you create, the ideas you create, the records you set, no one will ever forget that.

Your records inspire people and get them to believe that if you could, they could.

Every generation that leaves success, without the values that create that success, is creating a seedless grape generation.

A leader is proud of everything you are becoming when you are leaving his tutelage, while a user is pained at everything you have become when you are leaving his tutelage

Desire/intent - find an alignment between who you want to be, why you want to do and what you want to have. Look into your heart and find your intention

An unaccomplished intention is the greatest motivation of all.

God wants your intention to be that whenever he checks the intention coming out from you (thoughts, words, actions), he can say "this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased."

There are some things God may not ask you to do but he wants you to do.

When you are so intimate with God you begin to know the desires of His heart.

Happiness is a natural stimulus response but joy is a mindset that causes you to find gratitude in every situation.

Joyful people are always grateful people.

There's no greater life than the life of gratitude, appreciation and thanksgiving. That can only happen with a heart of joy

Interesting take on things @DaddyCK but, have you tried searching for wife material kind of ladies? They will not bill you but rather build with you. You just have to know what to look out for and where to look

Well @DaddyCK, what you just described above is common with melancholic personality types as they have a strong love for beauty.

Play a game with yourself...practice searching for the finer qualities in a person asides their attractive physical assets even if you won't date those types of people that don't meet your standards.

Then move to level 2, practice searching for people around you that have both the physical assets you like, and deeper character qualities (kindness, prudence with finances etc)

Then ask yourself who you need to be to attract those kinds of people because ultimately, you attract who you are...

Play a game with yourself...practice searching for the finer qualities in a person asides their attractive physical assets even if you won't date those types of people that don't meet your standards.
