Re: Ogun Targets 10,000 Industries by EkoIle1: 3:31am On Sep 15, 2011
Unfortunately for, you are just another sad and sorry soul with a very dark and gloomy outlook . You don't believe in yoursel and other peoples ability to express good vision and do good in life. Beyond what's posted on NL and your gloomy and sad mindset, you have zero understanding regarding the states plan.

The beauty of it all is the fact that, these state are moving ahead, they are coming up with great visions and ideas and doing great things while you remain on NL boring us with your worthless and sad rubbish. Obviously, you are the loser including your village, incompetent and visionless leaders. When was the last time we hear from your clueless and incompetent leaders?

edicolove:

1. The idea to industrilise their state has already been muted by over 15 governors. Amosun is not the first.
2. Some people are still saying 10,000 industries. That is fantasy not reality.
3. Industries and companies are not the same thing. Stop using them interchangeably
4. Creating space for industries is not enough to make people come to your state and start an industry. They have like 36(state) choices. There has to be things that will make them come including:

Raw Materials (Ogun has very few natural resources)
Power (Ogun has no power plant)
Rail system/transportation facilities (Ogun has no airport or seaport)
Finance (Ogun is not a wealthy state)

If he is really sincere, he should pick achievable goals and grow from there (crawl before you walk). Ogun is more like a Lagos spillover. He could take advantage of the facilities Lagos has. But to go to press and say he will increase the number of industries in Ogun State to about 10,000 in the next four years, means he is not sincere. Just doing propaganda. The good thing though is that this page has been booked marked. We will refer to it in 2015.

Ogun does not just have "very few" resources. Everything is not about oil. What about Bitumen and Iron ore??
@Highlighted
VERY CORRECT AND WELL PUT!!!

What's so correct about the highlighted and what difference does it make? Are the folks from Ogun state state not getting employed at these industries? Are the same employed folks and the industries not paying taxes to the government of Ogun state?

Is bashing and discounting every positive development that we want and pray for the new cool on NL? This is just silly and mindless.
Re: Ogun Targets 10,000 Industries by EkoIle1: 4:12am On Sep 15, 2011
Why bet your last bread and water and doubt the capacity of another man to do good and see his vision through? This is not even an impossible task. You people have zero faith in anything.

Shomolu in Lagos state is the printing capital of Nigeria if not west Africa, it's a huge business and great money maker for the state. Lagos state audited the whole area to determine how much electricity they consume, now the state is building and giving them their own independent power plant to give them uninterupted power supply.

Uninterupted power supply increased and sustained productivity which aging means more tax money for state and improved quality if life for the folks in the area. Same thing is going on in industrial estates like matori and ilupeju.

I don't even get the rationality or point behind betting against other peoples visions.

aletheia:

^Quite sensible approach. . .but I can bet my bottom dollar that that will not be done.

It is good to be optimistic but I believe this is just the usual empty rhetoric from politicians. The sad thing is that so many on this thread who ought to be more discerning are allowing themselves to be carried away by empty platitudes that sound nice but are really lacking in specifics and substance. The part highlighted above is rather vague. It provides no specific roadmap for how to get from 1,500 companies to 10,000 companies in 4 years. How? Someone highlighted the very important need for capital above. How does "one-stop shop" address access to capital for prospective small business owners, access to low-interest loans or microfinance schemes?

We should be wary of politicians' sound bytes.

Re: Ogun Targets 10,000 Industries by edicolove: 9:42am On Sep 15, 2011
^^^So why did you not say the same thing when other non ACN governors made similar statements. You called them names then and said they were just talking and they would not do it. But when an ACN governors said it, you say it is vision, Why do you use double standards then. Is it the usual hypocrisy and partisanship? For Eko-Ile, he is known for blind partisanship and hypocrisy so he isnt news.

Who are they? what did they say? Please be specific here. I guess u are probably referring to Akala and co right? Tell us what Akala or Daniels said and what exactly were our responses? Till you can provide such, once again ur basis is meaningless.

How can anyone say that ogun state has "very few natural resources"

Ignorance of the highest order !!

Apart from the fact that the land is blessed, so are our brains and we possess great entrepenural skills

Someone mentioned Shomolu as the printing capital of Nigeria. Do you know that a large majority of those printers (maybe 90%) are from Ogun State?

Someone should please remind me the state of origin of Otunba Subomi Balogun, Mike Adenuga and the late Tayo Adenirokun to mention a few wink

10,000 industries is veryyyyyyy acheivable. smiley

Same dumb rubbish. Is it even possible for visionless PDP clowns to come up visions or even anything to better the lives of their people?

And instead of repeating the same silly nonsense, show us the vision displayed by the former pdp governors in the state and while you are at it, add your own backward region and your worthless governors that we don't even hear from. Do that or just shut your mouth.
