TAUdo:
Hi everyone, please I will like to know how one can cope with Work when one is on an IVF journey. Will I need to take some weeks or months off work?

I am 41 years old, this will be my first time and I pray to God it will be a successful ivf

I intend to start the process in February 2024 so that I can be mentally prepared however, I have been wondering if I will need to take some weeks leave or months leave off work.

It is advisable to take some days off especially during the two weeks wait. This is to reduce stress of going and coming back from work, riding bikes, work pressure, unnecessary body movements that involves bending, carrying of load or physical exertion. Though some mamas go to work throughout their treatment and still get a bfp. Please weigh the pros and cons for your situation and decide what works for you. Even when at home it is still advisable to move around to aid blood flow.

Thank you so much for your response. I can take a month off work sef. So that means after getting a bfp, I can just gradually resume doing small work during the pregnancy

My people,

How na dey....

I decided to check on everyone. Love you all

Please, don't be discouraged. Keep believing and keep trying.

Make sure you follow the procedures before you start the IVF. Plan to embark on another one hopefully next year after my boy clock 4years.

If you're just joining, try and read through the information posted here. You will see alot that you can learn one or two things.

I remember, someone from here created WhatsApp group and the admin was doing as if she's the God that gives children because I was told she created the group to help waiting mothers by getting discount, I tried several times but she didn't add me due to the reasons known to her. I try to go through all the information posted here and it came out successful. So my lovely sisters, try and go through all the information posted and do your findings when ever you visit the hospital for the IVF treatment, don't just believe only what someone is saying here. Do your findings too and go through testimonies on how others got the results.

If you remember my story, I was having two ovaries but one was mistakenly cut off during fibroid operation. So, I only did IVf with one ovary.

I prayed that, the way God disappointed all my mockers through the IVF with one egg and one ovary. Same God will do yours too. Love you all.

Thanks dear. I have been trying to reach u, but u are not replying my mail

Good morning
I was at the center yesterday and the man told us about IUI,that what he will do is sperm retrievals and he placed us on some drugs to boost his sperm and my eggs too. What we have now cannot be enough for ivf so we want to give the IUI a try,we have done it before at Bolasad specialist hospital at Agege but it failed .
You need less sperm for IVF than for IUI. With IVF even 1 sperm can be used.

I've discovered Nigeria doctors are very greedy and lie alot at least my own was,a great big liar, knew I had only one follicle still went ahead with egg retrieval, told me there's no treatment for bad sperm motility, made me make my husband go through tesa surgery,ha it's a long and painful story what that doctor did to me,and it's my God that will judge him for me,my biggest regret was not going to the hospital my sister in law did hers, all because of stories I heard that this doctor tries,I didn't know all that was hearsay,do you know he doesn't even have IVF equipment in his hospital bit his collecting money for ivf, took us all the way from warri to benin to do egg retrieval and implantation, all those money for transport and fuel and accomodation and he didn't even tell me all this before I paid the money for the IVF to him,fee day back I sat down with some of the receipts I could find and calculated a total of 2 million ,six hundred thousand ,all for nothing, just heavy pain and heavy bleeding,ha stubborness is not good if only I had listen to my husband and went to the hospital his sister in law used by Gods grace I would have been pregnant by now
What clinic did your SIL use? Which did you use?

I understand, most times I don't even advice iui, cus I see it as a waste of money, first of all, it is only a 10% of success meaning, if 10 people do iui in a cycle, only one will get a bfp. It's just like advanced sex, it's nothing different from the normal clomid plus hcg you take and time sex only difference is instead of Ur husband cumming in you, the doctor takes his sperm, washes it, and places it after Ur cervix and every other normal phenomenon of pregnancy has to be perfect for a bfp to occur... Now two failed iui, adding it small money now you've gotten money for an IVF that has a 60% chance of pregnancy.

Thank you.
I manage the pain with pain drugs, very high ones like pentazocine.Other times i bear it.
Since source of the pain wasnt found even with surgery, there is nothing much that can be done.

Yes dear,i got pregnant immediately after the zoladex injection. Without drugs or ivf.Like i was still waiting for the period to return,u know zoladex stops the period. So while waiting, after 6 weeks from when i stopped it,found out i was pregnant.

I gave birth via CS. Had placenta previa,so had an emergency CS delivery.

Well after the zoladex,i didnt do anything. I was tired and have already removed my mind from pregnancy, just dt i kept waiting for the period to return so i will know what next to do,and boom was curious to why it was taking long and did test and it was positive.
Though i started some.drugs immediately i found out on my doctor's instructions
Cyclogest insert every night till 14 weeks, vasoprin tablet every day till 14 weeks, clexane injection (hv forgotten how long but it wasnt up to a month) and folic acid. Thats all. Just these 4 drugs after d positive test.

Feel free to ask anything u r not sure of. Will reply once i see it.
Ehe,hope you know the zoladex has the one for 3 months? Thats at a stretch. Thats not d one i took o. Took the one that lasts for a month only. Took it for 2 consecutive months so i could stop whenever i wanted. So just stopped the period for 2 months

@Bennytwin, I sent you an email. Pls reply.

Has your DH seen a fertility urologist or endocrinologist? Did they prescribe FSH, HCG and clomid?

There are some hospital that have success rate. But still have some failed once. I think when going for ivf let's allow to God to lead and lets be prayerful. My fertility doctor that did my ivf does not have a ivf center of his own. But has three different hospital. And the center he used for ivf is not one of those that is very popular. But with the help of God I got pregnant on my first transfer.

Thanks for your contribution.
It is only God who gives life. Only He creates and permits an egg and sperm to result in a live birth. Yet His laws requires a man and woman to come together in order to have a child, whether or not they pray and believe in Him.
There is a time to plant and a time to harvest.
Faith without works is dead.
In the multitude of counsel there is safety/wisdom.
Wisdom is profitable to direct.
In His mercy He gives children to those who pray and those who don't.
That He has given you yours does not mean those waiting have not prayed. Thanks again and please ignore my question if you wish to answer a question I didn't ask.

You have pcos.
Your LH is way above FSH.
Pcos is not only when your ovary is polycystic or irregular period
