The fact that many are voting corruption only means that Nigerians do not even know what their problem is. A basic understanding of causes and effects will show you that corruption is not a cause but an effect. There are issues that are classified as causes and corruption is not one of them. Corruption itself is a result of something more fundamental. Fundamental issues are things like culture, sense of unity, belief in the entity and such things. They are the real issues, not corruption. Some countries are more corrupt than Nigeria but do not suffer what Nigerians suffer. The former Egyptian president was very corrupt but still ran a very developed and organised country where the people didnt suffer much.

Gbam. However, the "something more fundamental" is Nigerians.

Nigerians are corrupt, and not vice versa. The 'vice versa' wouldn't even make sense.

Corruption it is.
In Nigeria, it cuts across across culture, sense of unity and belief in any entity.

If you look closely enough, you would find corruption is centralized in those other countries you did not specify.
It is hard to sustain an argument that corruption is not [b] horizontal
in Nigeria - cutting across every imaginable stratification - and you know it.
