@OP I thought a Sugar Daddy referred to someone who grooms/spoils his love interests who are quite younger than him. So I guess he is an extension of a "Daddy" in a way then.

A sugar daddy/mummy would be one who is significantly older than his/her partner. Significant in this case is left for the partner to determine, not the public. I know a 23 year old girl who felt her ex-boyfriend of 33 years was a sugar daddy.

but the natural order dictates a man of 33 should be more financially balanced than a 23 yr old girl - and in nigeria where men are expected to do everything, it's pretty much given.
