This thing the northerners are doing every year including sponsoring terrorists to Mecca in the name of pilgrimage needs to be stopped. It's not by force to be a religionist and God doesn't say one should throw money at him. Individual should celebrate on their own. The government has no business spending on the citizens in the name of celebrating something and at the end of the day, they will kill and kidnap people. Yesterday they released the backwardness of their education in that region but they would budget money on it or say something. This is why I so much love the southern states. You don't see any government doing much at Christmas-time. individuals celebrate with what they have.

Anyway, the best ways to loot the state treasury.

Why spending this huge amount just because you failed to eat in the afternoon? You eat in the morning and eat at night, but still have to spend this huge amount. However, when you eat morning, afternoon and night on normal day without fasting, you don't spend up to that for vulnerable and needy. Hope this spending is not avenue to embezzle or cater for rich people's families during Ramadan?

Generally most good muslims who can afford it will cook all through this period and if they have a mosque which most do will distribute in their community so that everyone is able to participate in fasting without needing to hustle as hard as non fast period.

Leave them with their jobless graduate
Talk to your Governor.

Or are you from the North? I hate when people criticize what they don't even understand or directly concern them

Just imagine, yet millions of Northern graduates remain jobless.

Imagine how many industries, factories, empowerment program that amount would take care of.

Religion is now a laundering money avenue

There's absolutely nothing wrong with feeding hungry mouths anytime of the year if the allocated food will reach the intended, but knowing Nigeria and how things work, I know this is another avenue for massive corruption. Tinubu has made an already bad situation worse and don't be too quick to condemn oh ye hypocritical Christians cos we all know if your own state governments offered the same package too, you would be among one of those on the long food line

I hope the author will also tell us how much the state governors in the south spend during the Christmas. In our Oyo State, every year during Christmas, govt spend too much resources on decoration, and one does raise question. Every religion for its adherents. Those who love sports do not care when FG give every player full plot of land in Abuja and some millions even when the players disappointed us at final.
