Ok having just recovered from the night of horror, its time to pass on my analysis.
1. Its Arsene to take the silver bullet. He (and I) underated Monaco and set up the team to attack leaving only 2 defenders, unfortunately they forgot their defensive role and joined the attack party. Wenger should have been at the touch line to call them to order, he just sat there wishing.

2. Because we underated them, when the first goal came, we became emotional and threw caution into the bin. At 1-2 we still had a chance.

3. You can blame Per all you want, but even a todler knows he is slow. But you never ask where was Kosh to make the first tackle? Per had 100% pass rate. Nevertheless he had sold his place to Gabriel.

4. The biggest flop for me was Ozil, he never really turned up despite a string of poor passes. He always ran too close to Cazorla, making it easy for Kondogbia (that name again!) to track them both.

5. Enough of fault finding and a bit of solution- for the return leg, let the defenders sit back and allow the attackers do their job. Hope never says no.

Silver bullet as in resign?...you wish

When has he be a touchline manager

Why expect new tricks from an old man

He underestimated Monaco
Same with Anderlecht, Newcastle, spuds, Bradford, Southampton.. Na today?

As usual....the blame falls on ozil
At least you were more objective and agree not all blame is on per

Is there any match that Giroud does not show his 'awfulness'? He only pops up from no where to shine a goal. That's why I feel if Arsene had let him he would have popped up like before.

Yeah, I've heard many comments about Wenger taking him off too early.

Man U just won 2-0, they have sneaked back into third on the table, let's see how the senile one reacts on Sunday.

O mighty Southampton, glitter boys of the first half of the season and Champions league contenders, how the mighty have fallen like Arjen Robben in the opposition's box 18.

Liverpool's resurgence is worrying! This is why I was opposed to them picking a win against Southampton. It's going to be a tough battle securing champions league spot.

Great win by the way!!

Paulista showed us what we'd been missing with Mertesacker- pace, agility, composure, and most importantly decisiveness. Like I said before, Per can kiss the first team good bye.

So bad midweek performance followed by a half decent weekend win with a clean sheet to boot.

Didn't watch the Monaco game so I can't say too much about that beyond the abysmal finishing on the night that probably has cost us a place in the next round again, unless. . .

As for Sunday's game, despite a few anonymous performances we had more than enough quality to win - if we'd picked up more wins this way, we would be even closer to Citeh. The main 'positive' is that we've not had the 3-4 game slumps that usually followed one bad performance.

And as for Pazienza's comments, no - I don't blame Per for those goals specifically, I blame an overly attacking performance completely at odds with how we've approached games in general this year. If your CB's are both in the opposition half and it wasn't for a corner and your fullbacks were also high up then it's suicidal.

In reality, Wenger gets the majority of the blame and maybe a little on Giroud for the loss.

On to the next one - QPR.

Why is here dry? Arsenal won with Merteslacker at the back with Paulista.

Well, too bad the rest of the chasing pack won.
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Spy360(m): 11:16pm On Mar 04, 2015
QPR 1-2 Arsenal

Another routine win for the Gunners keeping our place in the top four of issues.

Again, 'awful' Giroud pops up as usual to do the business. He has got 5 goals in 5 games! If you are still asking why Wenger keeps faith in him then you surely need to see a psychiatrist.

Lol the thread is now a yardstick.

Didn't watch the game yesterday but I'm happy Mertesacker had a good game. Still have my reservations about him. The most important is the 3 points. Good to see Sanchez on the score sheet once again cool

Great win for the boys yesterday. No time for mistakes at this critical time of the season. Wish we'll keep the momentum.

On to the next game.
