Senate Tells Jonathan To Revert To 65 Naira by INorg: 6:24am On Jan 11, 2012
The Senate after a closed door session yesterday, asked President Jonathan to revert the price of fuel to 65 Naira per litre. This is following a similar call a few days ago by the House of Representatives, the Senate President was asked to convey the Senate’s resolution to the President within 24 hours.
This came as the nationwide protest called by the organised labour against the removal of subsidy on petrol which commenced on Monday was hijacked on its second day by hoodlums in Ogun, Kaduna, Oyo and Edo states even as the Nigeria Labour Congress vowed that the protests will continue indefinitely until the Federal Government reverts the pump price of petrol to N65.

GEJ had better listen and avert a total breakdown. His current enemies are not Boko Haram but NOI and SLS.
Re: Senate Tells Jonathan To Revert To 65 Naira by UncleJJ(m): 7:13am On Jan 11, 2012
Its a shame that it had to take all this bitch slapping to push GEJ in the right direction. This man has shown us that education and degrees has nothing to do with intelligence, diplomacy, tact and human empathy.

GEJ, has grossly underated the intelligence of the average Nigerian, earth to GEJ supporters - a bird at hand is worth two in the bush.

Recently the IMF, UN and World bank have washed thier hands from this episode. The racket don fail, i guess they will have to make do with the other "foolish and gullible african countries."

We produce so much oil, deregulation should remain. Instead the govt. should borrow money build and build refinaries, and offer tax free oil investments for foreign oil companies. This is more than enough to get those greedy neo-colonialist dancing . cool

GEJ must sack IWEALA, DIEZANI, RINGIM and MAKU - to survive his remaining tunure. As for the senate, its a shame that the house of reps beat them to an intelligent decision. Sen. Mark is just trying to save his a*s*s from impeachment - cos fire don dey burn dem for bom bom.

To the NLC dude - truly you are the most courageous - to take a stand and fight, you have demonstrated that Nigerians can still unite and fight for a common cause. You have achieved , what that "fraud" osho-man-lame could not.

YOU BROUGHT THE SENATE AND THE EXECUTIVE TO THIER KNEES.

Jonathan, if your reading this - remember who voted you? The same guys - want you out, cant you hear the winds of change - OBJ and IBB adviced you otherwise but you though your babe - iweala was smarter, wink

YOU LIVE AND YOU LEARN. kiss

The Senate is only asking that it be postponed to April. They have not asked that it should be restored (which is beyond their power in this instance).

the national assembly has now taking a stand with the people of Nigeria. GEJ should swallow his pride and do the right thing which is to go reverse the price to 65 naira.

Re: Senate Tells Jonathan To Revert To 65 Naira by efisher(m): 11:19am On Jan 11, 2012
There is a difference between:
A. Convey the message to GEJ within 24 hours.

And

B. Revert the price within 24 hours.

Let's be clear, which one is it?

I dont know what has come over GEJ, because poeple call your slow motion, coward and uncourageous should not mean that you should be so sturborn to the extent of not paying listening ears to the peolpe you are governing, even wicked leaders in the history of the world like Adolf Hitler never play with the power of people they are leading. The moment a leader underestimate the power of his people, he his walking on the path of downfall. Am sure Ghadaffi never believed his people have such power until they revolt against him and bring him down.
GEJ the people you said you want to build infrastructure said they dont want your lies, revert the fuel price shikena.

i think there is urgent need for impeachment of the preisdent with seriousness and full sense of responsibility to start immediately.the impeachment should be one that will replace him.and not one for the cameras.the country is in crisis.if those that claim to represent the people directly in the senate and house of reps. cannot do something, then it looks like everyone will drown in a sinking boat.so,it is in the hands of those who represent the people to prove their worth and tell us that the millions they are being paid is not for nothing.people in their respective constituencies should ask their respective reps. and senators to go ahead with impeachment.the people must be heard.write to your reps. and senators and tell them what you want.

at least if Jonathan and his vice are gone and David Mark takes over,i see peace.the north would be pleased because Mark is someone like Gowon to be viewed and taken.the christians would not feel cheated as the muslims felt when Yar'adua died,as Mark is a christian that will replace Jonathan.and also Mark is a retired army officer who is expected to be tough with the security situation in the country.so please,Nigeria needs some peace.we cannot allow bloodshed by the wreckless and weak police force brutalizing civilians for Jonathan's sake.this is democracy.voting for someone and winning election is not the end of the democratic process and do not ensure dictatorship.we cannot also continue with the frequent massacres in the north.someone who is serious and responsible capable of handling the affairs of the country should take over.this fuel subsidy removal is even a good opportunity for the people to demand change.before the fuel subsidy removal the country was in problems and the president did not act as a president.

I pity your supposed occupy Nigeria cos it's dead already . . .occupy my Bottom . .when the main pinnacle of corruption in the NASS are given the high thumbs for playing to the gallery . . .

They are just exercising shyte powers, and like i said earlier, the clash between the FG and the NASS on this issue would antagonize their looting expedition . . cos they would check each other excesses . . or either reach a compromise stealthily . .

If the NASS mute impeachment . . then the real chaos unheard of shall visit them . .they know better. . .they are just playing cheap politics to avert the interest of the masses to call for their heads

For the sake of Nigeria, impeach Jonathan now!

This is not a nice thing to say diluminati. Jonathan is a real hero. A selfless one for that matter. Nigeria will fail if we do not cut down on recurrent expenditure especially from the National Assembly and keep substaining subsidy in the oil sector.

The amount actually subsidized is not up to N500BILLION. But more than N500billion are stolen due to false declaration of imported oil with the conniviance of oversea sellers and customs. Remember people like Atiku and Anenih were once customs chiefs.

Nothing will stimulate the oil economy without this removal. If it sails through, you'd be surprise at the level of employment oil firms and industries will offer. People will just build private refineries all around. Step removal wont still work for us anyway.

My only concern is that Jonathan and state Government should build stable power, good roads and organise mass transit before this declaration.
