what i finally did was to put the model number MC705LL in google and did a search. amazon and others confirmed it to be the new ipad.
i guess same thing can be done to the ipad2

I still repeat myself. All ipads show not charging when connected to a pc (fyi macbooks are not referred to as pc). We are discussing pc here not macbooks. Apple claim dat d pc usb power can not charge a 10wat ipad. It charges only when in sleep mode but if u wake it, it writes not charging. PCs run windows OS. If u connect any ipad to a normal windows OS pc and it charges, it means ur usb is not the normal usb that comes with d standard laptops.

Apple only stole Cydia tweaks and called it iOS 6! Most especially, Apple tried emulating IntelliScreenX, but missed more than 98% of her features.
I see no reason to upgrade. The only nice feature for me is C3-Tech 3D Map application.
